Change Steps for Hub 3.0 and 4.0
After the release of Hub 3.0, the 4.0 was introduced as Virgin’s latest broadband device that delivers gigabit speeds and additional antennas.
Although these two models have differences, the steps in the password are just the same.
1. Connect the Hub to your Computer
Take an Ethernet cable and connect the Hub 3.0 or 4.0 to your desktop computer or laptop. The port can be found at the back of the box.
2. Go to 192.168.0.1
On your web browser, enter 192.168.0.1 or the web address indicated on the sticker at the bottom of your box. This sticker indicates your network ID and default password.
For Hub 3 users, if you have activated the Modem Mode, enter this address instead: 192.168.100.1
3. Select Configure your WiFi Connection
After entering the details, you will be redirected to the home page. Here you can find the different setup options. This includes
- Configure your WiFi connection
- Network Diagnostic Tool
- Modify your Guest network
- Configure WiFi Connection
From the options select “Configure your WiFi connection”. This will take you further to next options.
4. Change your Password
Next you will be taken to the page where your current settings will be displayed. Select the Change button beside the “Current WiFi network password field”.
Note: In creating a new password, make sure that it meets the minimum requirements.
- Must be 10 characters long
- Must contain at least 1 uppercase letters
- Must contain at least 1 or 2 numbers
- Does not include 8 consecutive lowercase letters
Further, it should be as complex as it can be and one that you can easily remember at the same time.
5. Save Changes
Now that you have created your password, go and Click on “Apply Changes”. After saving, exit the configuration page.
The connected devices to the Hub will automatically be disconnected.
6. Restart the Devices
It is important to restart your phones, computers, and other devices connected to the Hub 3.0 or 4.0.
This will enable your devices to reconnect using the newly changed password. But remember for this, all your devices will require the new password.
7. Unplug the Ethernet cable
Now it time to double check if your devices are now connected to the network. Once everything is up and running, you can unplug the Ethernet cable and disconnect it from the computer.

The Super Hub 2ac also follows a similar configuration process with the Super Hub 2.
This line from Virgin Media is still widely used in the country due to its ease of access and affordability.
1. Connect the Hub to your Computer
Take an Ethernet cable and connect the Super Hub 2 or 2ac to your desktop computer or laptop.
The port can be found at the back of the box.
2. Go to 192.168.0.1
On your web browser, enter 192.168.0.1 or the web address indicated on the sticker at the bottom of your Super Hub.
You can find the network ID and default password on the sticker. It also indicates your router’s frequency.
3. Select Wireless Network Settings
After entering the network ID and password, you will be redirected to the home page where you can see the different setup options.
This includes:
- Wireless Network Settings
- Super Hub Settings
- Device Connection Status.
- Wireless Network Settings
From the above options select “Wireless Network Settings” and proceed to the next page.
4. Change your Password
Next on the new page, you need to enter the new password. You will see separate choices for the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz WiFi network.
For reference, these two frequencies differ in bandwidth and range. 5Ghz is best used for short distances to deliver fast speeds. While the latter provides longer distances but at a slower rate.
Note: While choosing the new password, make sure you follow these pre-set conditions:
- Must contain at least 12 characters
- Must consist of alphanumeric characters. Specifically, mix lowercase and uppercase letters
Similar to the Hub 3.0 and 4.0 your new passphrase should be unique and easily remembered by you yet composed by a combination of different characters.
5. Save Changes
Now after setting the new password, click on “Save Settings”. After saving, exit the configuration page. The connected devices to the Super Hub will automatically be disconnected.
