- Your mobile device is not in an area of Cellular Coverage
- There has been a problem with the insertion of the SIM card
- The SIM card been damaged or is the factory faulty
- Your mobile device is running an older software version
- Your mobile device is network-locked from another carrier
With these causes being the most often suspects, you will have an idea of what’s causing the issue with the activation process.
Let’s now proceed with the troubleshooting!
VOXI SIM Activation Not Working – Resolved!
Now that we know what could be responsible for the VOXI activation issue, we’re ready to start troubleshooting.
Make sure to follow the solutions in order and not skip any of them for the best and quickest results. This is the only way to keep track of the problem!
Let’s jump right in!
Solution #1 Repeat the Activation Process (Correctly)
The VOXI activation process is something that must be undergone the correct way, in order for your SIM card to connect.
If you let a step or two slip by during the activation, you will fail the activation process and your SIM card won’t start working until further notice.
Here’s the method for activating your VOXI SIM card the easiest way:
- Connect your smartphone device to a Wireless Network.
- Open the VOXI Activation Page.
- Insert the 10-digit number on your VOXI SIM card pack.
- Choose a plan for the activation.
- Insert a Username and a Password.
- Press “Next”.
- Choose your preferred payment method.
- Confirm the details of the process.
- Insert the SIM card into your phone.
Once activated the SIM card is put into your phone, you will receive an SMS, on which you have to tap “Activate SIM”.
When this is done, the VOXI SIM will connect to the cellular.
Note: The SMS may be delayed by a couple of minutes upon inserting the card.
Solution #2 Move Into Coverage!
One of the requirements that must be paid attention to while the activation process is that your phone and device must be in coverage.
Without coverage, your SIM card won’t be able to connect even if activated.
- In that regard, you must move out of dead zones while activating!
Here are some places you should avoid activating your VOXI SIM at:
- Basements, Tunnels, away from a tower!
- Deep Forests, Large Fields and Mountain Sites/Ranges
- Staying in-between thick concrete walls or objects that cause interference
- Under metal plates or thick metal surfaces.
Track the amount of signal you’re receiving with the cellular indicator at the top of your device’s screen.
If the above 2 fields of a signal are lit up, then attempt the activation again!
Note: Keep in mind that there could also be a cellular outage in your area.
This means that the cellular towers will be inactive for a while and you won’t receive coverage.
Solution #3 Reinsert the VOXI SIM
If the activation process is still failing, VOXI isn’t detecting that the SIM card is inserted into your phone.
The solution to this problem is to eject and then insert back in the VOXI SIM card you have received from the carrier. This way you will refresh its signal.
Here’s how to reinsert the VOXI SIM in your mobile device:
- Grab a SIM ejector tool.
- Insert the tool into your phone’ SIM pinhole.
- Take out the SIM compartment along with the card.
- Remove the card from the SIM Tray.
- Reinsert the SIM card into the compartment.
- Put the cardholder back into your phone.
- Check if now you would receive the VOXI SMS.
You need to be extremely gentle and pay attention to the cut SIM corner. This is the prime indication of how the SIM card should be inserted into the tray.
Upon inserting the card back into your mobile device, you should be prompted to enter the default PIN code (0000).
Tip: Look at the coverage bars above. If the bars are full or they say “Connected”, then your phone has successfully recognized the SIM.
Await the SMS if the SIM was read.
Solution #4 Update Phone Software!
Chances are that your phone software is outdated and this is the reason why the SIM isn’t recognized by your device.
You could easily bump up the firmware of your device from the settings and upload the latest one available. It will only take a couple of minutes!
To update your phone software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Once at this tab, you will have to press “Check for Updates” > “Update”.
Keep in mind that the update button will only become available if the “Check for Updates” process actually detected an update.
As long as your device is connected to the internet, if an update is available, it will appear!
Note: If the tab says “No Update is Found” it means your phone is already up to date!
Solution #5 Network-Unlock your Phone
Chances are that your mobile device is locked to another network.
When subscribing to a provider, you will receive an offer to purchase a device that will be paid with extra fees over your plan.
If you’re using one of those devices, but from another provider, it is network-locked to the provider you’ve bought it from.
- A locked device won’t be eligible for VOXI SIM activation!
To unlock a network-locked mobile device, contact the carrier you bought it from!
Unfortunately, there is no way to manually unlock the device that is hosted by your previous carrier.
If you’ve fully paid for the device and your subscription at the previous carrier ended, contacting them and providing them with info will unlock your phone.
Note: Unlocking your phone may take a few days after contacting the provider!
Solution #6 Get a New SIM Pack from VOXI
If the VOXI SIM card is not activating even after unlocking your phone to all carriers, then it’s time to contact VOXI themselves.
It’s possible that the SIM pack you’ve acquired from VOXI has factory faults and must be replaced by the carriers.
It’s highly likely that VOXI will provide you with a few additional things to attempt before sending you a new SIM pack.
This is good, just listen to their instructions and you will get your SIM card pack activated by VOXI professionals.
Quick Recap:
