Whenever Toniebox isn’t charging correctly, inspect the connection between the player and the charging station, as well as your wiring equipment. In case the issue is still there, connect the Toniebox audiobook to a different outlet and force a factory reset on the unit.
Why is the Toniebox Battery Not Charging?
The only way to charge the battery of a Toniebox audiobook is by connecting the device to the charging station.
Not knowing whether the Toniebox is charging, accompanied by startup issues or complete inactivity, could throw some users into the blue.

- A malfunction with the charging station.

- An underlying problem with the Toniebox.
Notice: The Toniebox will produce a sound output whenever it needs to be charged!
How to Know When a Toniebox is Charging?
Unfortunately, none of the LED lights on the Toniebox indicate an active charging process.
The green LED on the frontal panel of the device only notifies that the device is turned on and ready to play audiobooks.
Hence, as long as the Toniebox remains plugged in, it could take up to 7 hours until the unit is charged to 100% battery capacity.
The operational battery level is achieved if the green light comes on after the Toniebox is disconnected from the charging station.

The only way to test if the power supply from the current outlet is fluctuating or inconsistent is to connect the charging station to a proven electrical outlet.
The Toniebox charging station uses a standard 2.0 USB to connect with the charging adapter.
Hence, you must place the Toniebox on top of the charging station, unplug the power adapter, and relocate the equipment next to another suitable wall outlet.
Strips and Outlet Plugs!
Third-party connectors, such as power strips, dividers, and outlet jacks, could limit the power flow to the Toniebox charging station.
Plug the charging station directly into the power outlet to check whether the Toniebox will start charging with a direct electrical connection to the source.
Tip: You should also verify that the outlet used for the station is working!
3. Service and Clean the Charging Jack

This would result in prolonged or non-charging, so you must closely inspect and clean the charging jack of your Toniebox audiobook.
Follow these steps to service the charging jack of the Toniebox audiobook:
- Acquire rubbing alcohol and multiple earsticks.
- Next, apply rubbing alcohol to one of the earsticks.

The power connector of the audiobook should plug freely, and in case of any friction, this may damage the port and the connector.
If you can see and confirm visual damage, then the power equipment of your Toniebox might have to be replaced.
Tip: Also, inspect and clean the charging pin of the Toniebox charging station!

Since the USB cable cannot be detached from the charging station, another way to test for power issues is to replace the charging adapter.
The Toniebox package will not include a power adapter but only the charging station, USB cable, and the Toniebox audiobook.
Hence, unplug the power adapter from the USB cable of the charging station and connect a working adapter.
If the Toniebox is charging successfully, the LED should come on eventually.
How to Inspect a Power Adapter for Faults?
The easiest way to tell if a power adapter is defective is to plug your smartphone’s charging cable into the USB and test.
