Solution #1 Perform a Power Cycle
The very first step against the STBA-3801 Spectrum error is to perform a power circulation on our Spectrum Receiver.
A communication error such as “STBA-3801” appears when the software or technical state of the device is out of order and by restarting ALL services, we’ve got a pretty good shot.
Here’s how to power-cycle your Spectrum Cable Box:
- Unplug the Spectrum Receiver from the power outlet.
- Unplug the Power Cable from the Spectrum Box as well.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds until the machine discharges.
- Using a different power source, plug in your Spectrum Receiver directly.
- Plug the power cable into the device as well.
- Turn ON your Spectrum Cable Box.

We assume that the “STBA-3801” Error appears when you attempt to watch a certain channel or appears on ALL channels, which is the worst-case scenario.
Spectrum Cable Box automatically gets updated when a new version is released and the only requirement is to be connected to the internet.

Solution #5 Reset Spectrum Receiver

The reset works only for Spectrum receiver models 101, 210, 210, and 201. In case you’ve got this model, follow the steps below:
- Make sure that your TV is working!
- Hold the Reset button for at least 6 seconds!
- The Spectrum logo should appear on the screen.
