As we’ve mentioned, error 7005 is also related to a service called “Cisco VideoGuard,” so shut down and restart this process.
Here’s how to force-close processes on Windows:
- First, right-click somewhere on the Taskbar.
- Then, from the menu, select Task Manager.
- Make sure that you’re under “Processes.”
- Scroll or press the “S” key to find “Sky Go.”
- Right-click on its tile and click “End Task.”
- Repeat the same for “Cisco VideoGuard.”
Note: If you find, also disable related services such as “SkyGoInstaller” and “SkyGoSetup.”
2. Delete the Sky Go Data Folders
In case error 7005 is still apparent, a good way to address any data corruption within the Sky Go app files, would be to erase them manually.
These types of applications typically repair their files automatically, but you’ll guide you through the correct steps to resolve data faults.
Here’s how to refresh your Sky Go app data folders:
- First, click on Start Menu from the taskbar.
- Type “%appdata%” and enter the folder.
- Look for two folders, “Sky” and “Sky Go”.
- When you find them, delete both folders.
- Then look for “Cisco” and delete this folder.
Here are all folders for deletion as per their Windows directory:
- C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Sky
- C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Sky Go
- C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Cisco

- Then look for the “Programs and Features” tile.
- Next, under “Name,” look for the “Sky Go” app.
- Click on the app and on the “Uninstall” button.
- Then navigate to the Sky Go Download Page.
- In there, click on “Windows – download the app”.
- Then, locate the “SkyGoInstaller” and run the .exe.
- When installed, Sky Go will appear on the desktop.
Test by launching the Sky Go application “as Administrator” to overcome any restrictions regarding admin rights.

To see the name of your user, go to This PC > Local Disc (C:) > Users.
Then replace your name with the red text “PC User” and close and save the notepad on your desktop.
Tip: Name your text file “FixSky7005.BAT” and put the file in a folder named “FixSky7005”.
Step #2 Run the “FixSky7005.BAT” File!
The next step is to double-click on the new file that should have appeared on your desktop, which will execute all of the commands within the text file.
These commands include:
- Removing the Cisco VideoGuard.
- Removing Sky Go and all folders.
- Reinstalling the Sky Go application.
When you first run the troubleshooter file you’ve created, the Sky Go app will re-install immediately, but all folders will be deleted.
So, create a folder called “FixSky7005” in the C:\System, directory and run the bat file from your desktop again to reinstall Sky Go.
Step #3 Turn OFF Your Firewall
If the troubleshooter didn’t help, you might have to turn off your Firewall, so scroll up in the guide to find the steps we’ve already discussed.
When you disable the security layer of your Windows, run the bat installed again to clear all Sky folders and cleanly reinstall the app.
Tip: If that doesn’t help, remove the app from the Windows Control Panel.
