However, it’s certainly an issue that you can quickly fix yourself.
Fixing the Rogers Ignite TV no signal error will not take a lot of your time. You need to check if you still have internet connectivity. Perform a speed test and ensure your internet is at least 15Mbps. You also want to make sure that the HDMI cables between your TV and the box are in excellent condition.
Causes of Rogers Ignite No Signal Issue
There are a few reasons behind this issue, and the good news is that none of them are too complicated to fix.
Whenever you get this error while watching Ignite TV, it’s important that you do not panic and determine the root cause. It will make it easier for you to resolve it.
1. No or Slow Internet
Since Rogers Ignite TV is an internet-based service, you need a fast and reliable connection to be able to watch.
The TV signal goes through the internet, and if you have a slow connection, it will not be able to resolve the picture showing you the ‘No Signal’ error.
2. Wrong Input Source
Modern TVs come with multiple input sources allowing you to connect different devices at the same time.
It’s possible that you have game consoles, DVD players, and other entertainment equipment hooked to your TV, and you have not set the input source from your cable box.
3. Damaged HDMI Cables
Getting the ‘No Signal’ error means that your TV does not receive the signal properly and cannot show it.
A break in your HDMI cable can cause this since the signal cannot propagate to your TV seamlessly.
How to Fix Rogers Ignite TV No Signal?
The good news is that the many solutions to this issue are quick and easy to do. It’s not like you need to be a licensed electrician to fix it.
Anyone can do it, and you do not need any technical expertise.
Follow the troubleshooting steps described here, and you will have your TV up and running in no time.
Solution #1: Make Sure Your HDMI Cables are Not Damaged
If you are experiencing Rogers Ignite no signal error, one of the primary reasons you get this is with damaged HDMI cables.
This issue is easy to overlook since your cables are usually hidden.
Whenever you experience this issue, the first thing you need to look at is the condition of your cables. Cleaning and moving furniture around can contribute to getting your cables damaged.
Push it hard enough against an edge of the table and the wall, and it can cause the cables to fray or break inside the insulation.
Here’s how to know if your HDMI cables are damaged:
- Perform a visual check of your cables from the box to the TV.
- Check for physical breaks.
- Change the cable to see if it’s the cause of the problem.
- If it’s the cable, get new ones.
Note: You do not need to buy new cables right away. You can test it out by using different cables from other devices that you know work.
Solution #2: Check If Your Internet is Down
The Rogers Ignite TV is an internet-based service, and it’s essential that you have optimum connectivity at all times.
Experiencing slow to no internet connection will cause the ‘No Signal’ error.
If you suspect that your internet is down or is slower than usual, here are the steps you need to take:
- Check your messages or email for a network outage notification.
- Check your Ignite WiFi if it shows a solid red or amber light.
- Go to Speedtest.net to check your internet speeds.
- Contact Rogers to know when the service will be restored.
Note: Slow internet speeds are results that are below 15Mbps.
You will still be able to watch channels and on-demand programs on Ignite TV at these speeds, but you might not have the best viewing experience.
Solution #3: Set Your TV to a Different Input Source
Your smart TV is likely your entertainment centrepiece. This means that all of your other devices are linked to it.
If you have a game console, DVD player, and cable box, they are going to be plugged in for convenience.
There is really no problem having these ready. However, if you choose the wrong input source that’s turned off, you are going to see the ‘No Signal’ error.
For example, you want to watch from your Rogers Ignite TV box, but your input source is set to your Xbox One X that’s turned off, nothing will show up.
After checking that your HDMI cables are fine and you have an internet connection available, the next step that you want to take is checking that your TV’s source is your cable box.
Here’s how to do it:
- Go to the menu option on your TV.
- Look for Input or Sources and select it.
- Select the one for your Rogers Ignite TV box.
- Press OK to confirm.
- Watch your favourite channels or on-demand content.
Note: You will also need to make sure to turn on your cable box. Having these turned off will also show the ‘No Signal’ error.
Solution #4: Reset All Your Rogers Ignite TV Equipment
Whenever you get this particular error, one of your first instincts is to reset your cable box. It’s certainly an excellent step to take.
However, it may be temporary since you only isolated your cable box. The better step to take here would be to reset all of your Rogers Ignite TV equipment.
Here’s how to reset all of your TV equipment:
- Turn off your TV and cable box.
- Remove the plugs from the socket.
- Unplug your Ignite WiFi Gateway Modem.
- Wait for at least 15 to 30 seconds before plugging them back in.
- Turn on your TV, cable box, and modem.
Note: It’s essential that you power down and unplug all of your equipment, so they refresh their software all at the same time.
This step ensures that you do all of these in one go saving you time and headaches.
Solution #5: Refresh Your Ignite TV Box
At this point, if you are still experiencing Rogers Ignite ‘No Signal’ error, you will want to refresh your TV box.
Refreshing is different from restarting since this command will come from Rogers. If there are any issues between your box and the Rogers server that are causing you to get the error, doing this will resolve it.
The good news is that the refresh process will not require you to call Rogers.
Instead, you only need to do it online, so you will be able to perform it quickly and get your box refreshed and working again.
