How to Fix the Optimum Cable Box Not Working?

Step #1: Ensure That All Wires and Cables Are Connected
First things first – check the hardware. This would include the cables, the ports, as well as other components of the cable box that make it work.

Step #2: Check the Condition of the Hardware

- Leave it unplugged for about five (5) seconds and Plug it back to power again.
- The box might display a Hold, preceded by a Turn on icon.
- Wait for about three (3) to five (5) minutes as it usually takes that long.
- You’ll know that it’s Reset when the front panel of the cable box displays the time.
Method 2:
- Press and hold INFO, VOL +, and VOL – on the cable box until the device turns off on its own.
- When it turns off, Release the Buttons.
- Wait for about Three (3) to Five (5) minutes for the system to reinitialize.
- You will know that it’s reset when the cable box Displays the time.
NOTE:
There are some cases where the cable box might display random alphanumeric characters. When this happens, just leave it – it’s normal. It will be gone and replaced with the time after the reset process.
