Do you want to know how to deactivate call forwarding Comcast Business? We’ll share everything you need to know about it in this guide!
With over 2 million businesses using Comcast Business’ services daily, one of their most active services will be call forwarding.
It’s a convenient way to redirect your calls to a different phone number, especially when you’re away.
Let’s take a closer look at Comcast Business’ call forwarding service.
To deactivate call forwarding with your Comcast Business account, they offer you three choices. You can dial special codes on your phone or do it via your online account or their app. If you have activated call forwarding, dial *73 on your phone, then hang up. All your calls should be routed back to your business line.
As with many call forwarding services, you can deactivate it on your Comcast Business account.
The process will be similar to when you’re deactivating it on a mobile phone or landline.
The primary difference is that business accounts give you more detailed options for configuring call forwarding.
They give you the power to filter your calls based on your current circumstances and use a different code for each one.
Before changing your settings, let’s check out some of the things you need to consider with call forwarding.
As a business owner, you do have a lot of reasons to make use of the feature as much as possible.
Let’s look at some of the things you can and can’t do with your Comcast Business call forwarding:
1. Change On Your Comcast Business Phone
If you want to change call forwarding settings for your account, you’ll need to do it with your Comcast Business phone. Alternatively, you can also log in to your account.
2. Forward To Domestic And Toll-Free Numbers
Comcast offers you different ways to forward your calls. You can even nominate any of the numbers you own so that you will receive those calls.
The only thing you can’t do is use an international number.
3. No Voicemail Forwarding
Comcast Business can forward your calls quickly. However, they don’t offer voicemail forwarding, so you’ll have to open it yourself.
4. Does Not Affect Texts
You can’t also forward texts to a different number you own. You’ll need to receive it on your business phone.
You need to consider these things if you want to take full advantage of your call forwarding settings.
We can now proceed to change those settings so you can set it up depending on your needs.
Activating your Comcast Business call forwarding is one thing. However, you’ll also need to switch it off, especially if you’re already back in the office after your vacation.
Since they offer many call forwarding options, you want to make sure you dial in the right code.
If you can’t remember which call forwarding mode you’re in, here are the codes you can try to deactivate the feature properly:
If you’re going to be away from your office or business for an extended period, you want to use the Call Forwarding Always mode.
This will transfer all the calls your business phone will receive to a number you have nominated.
Now that you’re back in the office and can answer calls on your business phone, it’s time to deactivate it.
Here’s how you can do that using your phone:
- Lift the receiver on your phone.
- Wait for the dial tone.
- Dial *73.
- You can now hang up your phone.
- Confirm that all your calls are directly routed to your business phone.
Note: To activate this mode, all you need to do is dial *72, then dial the number you want to receive your business calls.
You want to use the Call Forwarding Busy mode if you’re waiting for an important call, but you also have the need to use your business phone.
Activating this will tell your line to forward calls that will receive the ‘Busy’ notification.
Now that you have it all sorted out and want to deactivate this, here are the steps on how you can do it:
- Lift your phone’s receiver and listen to it.
- Wait to hear the dial tone.
- Dial *91.
- Listen for a tone that will confirm this is deactivated.
Note: To activate this particular call forwarding mode, you can dial *90. Wait for a dial tone and enter the number where you want to get business calls.
There are times when you’re available but simply unable to answer the phone. You may be in a meeting or busy talking to clients.
If this is the case, you need to activate Call Forwarding No Answer.
If you have activated this type of call forwarding, here’s how you’ll be able to deactivate it using your business phone:
- Get the receiver on your phone.
- Listen for the dial tone.
- Press *93 on the keypad.
- Wait for the confirmation tone to play.
Note: Dial *92 to activate Call Forwarding No Answer. Don't use this mode if your phone is part of a Hunt Group.
Comcast Business also offers you a contingency plan in case of service or power outage.
If your phone service goes down, it will be near impossible for your clients or customers to contact you.
However, activating this call forwarding mode should help you stay connected.
In case you want to deactivate this feature, here’s how you can do it:
- Lift your phone’s receiver.
- Listen for the dial tone.
- Dial *59.
- Follow the prompts to deactivate the service.
Note: You will also be able to add or remove forwarding numbers. To activate the service, simply dial *58.
Comcast Business also has an app that will allow you to configure your account and service features.
One of the things you can do with the app is set up call forwarding.
Of course, you can still do this with your business phone, but this can make your life a lot easier since you can access this on your mobile phone.
Here’s how you can deactivate call forwarding using the Comcast Business app:
- Open the Comcast Business app.
- Select the menu on the top left, and go to My Phone.
- Tap on Call Forwarding.
- Toggle the switch on the mode you want to deactivate.
Note: You can also manage your call forwarding settings online by logging into your Comcast Business account and selecting Manage Call Forwarding Online.
You can now deactivate call forwarding whether you forgot to turn it off or want to stop some of these modes you don’t need anymore.
The steps are simple, and all you need is access to your business phone or your Comcast Business account.
