- Turn off and unplug your router from the power!
- Reconnect the service cable from the blue port.
- Then, unpair all unused devices from the WiFi.
- Next, stop downloading, streaming or uploading.
- Connect the ITVX app’s playout to the 2.4 GHz WiFi.
- Verify that your internet speed is above 2.5 Mbps!

Samsung Smart TV:
If you’re streaming ITVX on a smart TV, that is not Android, then the universal steps should help you resolve the ITVX slow loading.
The steps involve an app reinstallation and a power cycle:
- Press the “Home” button on the remote!
- Next, navigate to Settings > select ITVX.
- Then, choose the “Delete” menu option.
- Next, highlight and select the search icon.
- Type “ITVX” to get and then install the app.
- Turn off your Samsung TV with the remote.
- Unplug the TV from the wall power outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds with the TV unplugged.
- Plug the TV directly into the power outlet.
Android Smart TV:
If you’re using an Android TV, then the steps below will help you cleanly reinstall the ITVX app and power cycle your device.
This way, you’ll tackle all of the slow-loading ITVX causes at once:
- From the home screen go to Settings.
- Then, under “Devices” select “Apps”.
- Under “Downloads” tap on the “ITVX” app.
- Select the “Uninstall” button to remove.
- Then, again, go to the “Apps” menu tab.
- Then, select and enter Google Play Store.
- Search for “ITVX” and download the app.
- When ready, power off and unplug the TV.
- Wait for 60 seconds for a power cycle.
- Connect the Android TV directly to power.
Apple TV Box:
If you’re using a tvOS, then the steps below will guide you through the complete reinstallation of the ITVX app and a refresh of your Apple TV.
So, let’s walk you through the steps guide:
- First, highlight the “ITVX” application icon.
- Next, press and hold the click pad’s centre.
- When it starts to *jiggle* tap Play/Pause.
- Select the option “Delete” to remove ITVX.
- Then enter the App Store to get the ITVX.
- Then power off your Apple TV completely.
- Next, unplug the TV for at least 60 seconds.
- Then, plug the Apple TV directly into the power.
Amazon Fire Stick:
The most-powerful solution against slow loading times on ITVX is to uninstall and reinstall the application from your Fire TV or Firestick.
Luckily, with the Amazon OS, this is quite easy to do!
Note: The steps above are applicable to any Fire TV or Firestick!
- From the home screen, enter the Settings.
- Move down one row to enter Applications.
- Scroll and highlight the “ITVX” application.
- Then select the app and choose “Uninstall”.
- Then go back and enter the “Appstore” app.
- Next, find and install the “ITVX” application.
- Finally, power cycle your Firestick entirely.
- Tip: Unplug the stick or TV from the power!
Roku TV or Stick:
On Roku OS, whether you use Roku TV or a Roku streaming stick, the most impactful solution would be to cleanly reinstall the ITVX app.
This is one solution that addresses all possibilities!
- First, press the “Home” button on the remote.
- Then, select the “ITVX” app from the grid list.
- Press on the “Options” button for uninstalling.
- Tap on the “Remove Channel” menu option.
- Then, go back and enter the App Store app.
- Find the “ITVX” app and download it cleanly.
- When you’re ready, power off your Roku TV.
- Lastly, unplug from the power for 60 seconds!
Sky Q TV Box:
Note: You cannot reinstall apps on the Sky Q TV box but you can reset the settings!
- First, navigate to Settings but do not enter them!
- When “Settings” is highlighted, press 0, 0, 1, and Select.
- When the hidden menu appears, select Reset Settings.
- If the remote gets unpaired, press 1 & 3 to pair it back.
- Then, complete power off your Sky Q TV cable box.
- Then unplug the TV box from the power for 60 seconds.
Important: Overheating!
Overheating causes slow loading times on any playout devices that affect all apps, not only ITVX.
The best way to deal with high internal temperatures is by ventilating the environment and unclogging the device’s vents.
How to Fix ITVX Slow Loading on Mobile OS?
Note: The same steps apply also for Android or iOS tablets!
Android Phone:
If you have an Android phone, then the steps below will certainly teach you how to remove and then re-install the ITVX app cleanly.
This will most certainly optimise the device’s performance:
- On your Android, go to Google Play Store.
- Then, tap on your profile picture on the right.
- Select “Manage apps & Device” > Manage.
- Choose the “ITVX” app and then “Uninstall”.
- Then simply tap on the “Install” ITVX button.
- Hold the Power button to restart your phone!
Apple iPhone:
If you have an iPhone, then the steps below are just for you to help you out with performing a clean ITVX app reinstallation.
It’s one of the most powerful techniques against slow loading!
- On your iPhone, tap and hold the ITVX app’s icon.
- When the list appears, select the “Remove” option.
- Confirm by selecting the “Remove” option again.

The steps below will show you how to optimise the speed of the Google Chrome browser, in order for ITVX to start loading normally.
- Tap on the “three dots” Chrome Menu settings!
- Then, hover the cursor over “History” > History.
- Then, on the left, click on “Clear Browsing Data”.
- At the Time Rage, select “All Time” to clear everything.
- Then, tick Browsing History, Cookies and Cache!
- Click on the “Clear Data” button to erase the files.
- Go into Chrome’s Settings > Advanced > System.
- Enable “Use hardware Acceleration when available”
- Exit the Google Chrome browser and restart your PC.
How to Fix ITVX Slow Loading on Consoles?
NVidia SHIELD:
If you’re using an NVidia SHIELD console for ITVX streaming, then follow the steps below to help you reinstall the app and refresh your console.
This way you’ll exclude most possibilities:
- From the main screen, go down and enter Settings.
- Then, enter the “Apps” tab and find the “ITVX” app.
- Select the app and scroll down to select “Uninstall”.
- Then go back to the main screen of your SHIELD.
- Enter the Google Play Store and search for “ITVX”.
- Download the app cleanly on your NVIDIA SHIELD.
- Then, power cycle your SHIELD and test the app!
Xbox One/S:
In case you’re an Xbox user, the ITVX app might have developed a corruption in the files, where a clean reinstallation would be necessary.
The steps below will show you exactly what to do:
- On your Xbox, select the ITVX application.
- Press the “Menu” button on the controller.
- Then, select the “Manage Game” option.
- From there select “Uninstall All” for ITVX.

One More Thing – Free Up Playout Resources!
When the ITVX application is cleanly installed on your playout device, you also need to ensure that your device is not struggling with its operation.
The easiest thing to do is make sure not to open too many apps at once, and free up some available resources like memory and storage.
The best way to free up device resources is to uninstall unused apps!
On most devices, you need to go to Storage > Apps, or simply highlight the app from the home screen and select the “Uninstall” option.
Clear as many apps as necessary and check whether the loading of your ITVX application will improve.
