Can’t figure out why is Disney Plus not working on Sky Q? Here’s the answer!

Disney Plus may not be working on your Sky Q if there’s a problem with the cable box itself. An issue with the applications or the app cache could also cause Disney Plus not to work. The solution requires a thorough inspection of all aspects involved.
When a certain platform is not showing or not working on your Sky Q TV Box, there could be multiple things causing this.
For instance, all online platforms (Disney Plus as well), will experience buffering and/or loading issues when your Internet Connection is Weak.

The method you should begin with is to Reboot your Sky Q Cable Box!
In case the problem is temporary and accidental, this is the best approach. We will also make sure to perform a power circulation which will restart all services of your cable box.
It will also refresh with the temporal memory data and the Disney Plus application.
How to Reboot Sky Q Cable Box:
- Hit the Power Button on the TV box to shut it OFF.
- Unplug the Power Cable from the electrical outlet.
- Give your box 5 Minutes to discharge off the electricity.
- Re-attach the power adapter to the source it was associated with.
- Press the Power Button againin order to launch the cable box.
- Wait for it to start and test the Disney Plus app.
Do not interact with the box the moment it starts up again.
Give it a few seconds to launch all services and only then, navigate to the Apps section and launch the Disney Plus App.
On all devices, the internet is required to stream anything online, including Disney Plus.

What’s important for ALL users is to verify the connection of your cable box, by re-doing the Wi-Fi setup process in the box’s settings.
How to connect Sky Q to WiFi:
- Launch the Settings Tab using your Sky Q’s remote.
- Navigate to Set Up.
- Select the Network Tab.
- Select “Advanced Settings”.
- Press “WiFi hotspots” and make sure the feature is turned on.
- Select your Home’s Network.
- Enter the WiFi Password correctly.
- Press the “Connect” Button to start the pairing.
The WiFi setup process would average take 3-5 minutes, based on the internet’s performance. The better your WiFi signal is, the faster will the box pair.
Alert: Ensure that the network device is online and the broadband light is green!
Once subscribed for Sky Q, you’ll receive a Confirmation Email at your address!
This email will include Activation Instructions for Disney Plus and what you’ll have to do exactly, to get your account running.
As long as your Sky subscription includes the Disney Plus perk, you’ll receive this email in order to activate the account.
How to activate Disney Plus Subscription:
- Launch your Email App.
- Navigate to “Inbox”.
- Press on the Disney Email sent from Sky.
- Press “Activate”.
- Wait to get Redirected into the Disney Plus website.
- Insert Only the Required Info and press “Next”.
- Finalize the setup and create a Password for your Account.
- Attempt to use Disney Plus on your Sky Q TV Box.
All details regarding username and account name will be auto-filled by Disney since you’re being connected by a provider service. Only save your password, because you’ll need it.
Note: Once the subscription is enabled, a “Success!” message will appear on your screen!
In case you’re still wondering why is Disney Plus not working on Sky Q then you definitely need to Reset ALL Applications via hidden remote command.
This will cause the data of all applications to be refreshed, along with the space they take on your box’s storage. It’s great when a particular app refuses to work or launch.
To reset all apps, you’ll have to access the Hidden Menu.
Follow these instructions:
- Grab your Sky Q Remote.
- Point it at the box and press Home.
- Navigate to Settings, but Only Highlight It.
- Press 0 0 1 on your remote’s keypad.
- Once the hidden menu appears, press “Reset”.
- Choose “Reset All Apps”.

Once the request for application reset is sent to Sky, it could take up to 24 Hours before all services are refreshed. Based on the traffic at Sky, it may finish earlier but be prepared.

Once activated Disney Plus, will automatically add up to your Sky Bill.
This means that not paying your Sky bill on time will cancel all perks of the subscription, along with your provider’s Disney Plus account.
To get this problem settled, all you have to do is renew your Sky subscription and make sure all of the fees are paid.
- You could complete a Sky payment through the Mobile App or Sky Q Box!
Navigate to “Subscription” in the Sky Q app and tick all of the pending fees that are to be paid.
After that, update or include your payment information in the required fields and press the “Pay” button to finalize the payment.
Note: Make sure that enough funds are in your account for the Sky subscription!
If nothing worked so far, we suggest performing a Factory Reset on your Sky Q Box!
This will clear up bugs with the software of the TV box and furthermore troubleshoot the problematic Disney Plus application.
It will also have all of the data on your box restored to default values, so all of the saved files on the device will be permanently erased.
Here’s how to Factory Reset your Sky Q Box in easy steps:
- Locate Reset Button on back of the Sky Q Box.
- Press and hold the reset button for 30 Seconds.
- Keep holding until the box flashes in Red & Green.
- Let go of the reset button as soon as the box flashes.
- Wait for the box to complete the reset.
The reset will take around 3-5 minutes until the box reboots and then starts back up.
While the reset is still going, do not interact with the box, since you could accidentally cancel the reset and fail the data deletion.
Note: The setup prompt will appear on your TV screen after the box is finished resetting!
