Vodafone Age Restriction won’t turn OFF and you’re wondering why?
Quite a few Vodafone users have experienced an issue where the Vodafone Age Restriction is enabled even when the feature is toggled OFF in the app.
Even if we’re over 18, registered and received an email stating that the limits are lifted, we can still experience restrictions.
When Vodafone Age Restriction is activated we can disable the option from within the My Vodafone app only after our age has been verified. In case we’re under 18 years of age we can either use a VPN or change the Proxy Settings to bypass the content limitations!
Let’s next learn more about what we need to do when the age restriction won’t turn off!
The very first and most important aspect that we need to learn is that there is only one possible way to legally remove the Vodafone restrictions.
The main and guaranteed method is to verify your age and then manually disable the Age Restriction on Vodafone!
Here are ALL possible ways to remove Vodafone Age Restriction:
- Verify Your Age in the My Vodafone App
- Manually Disable the Restriction
- Reboot Mobile/Router & Reinsert SIM
- Use A Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- Configure the APN (Proxy IP & Port)
We can always contact Vodafone when we’re experiencing issues but surely they will only assist if you’re over 18 years old.
However, we strongly recommend reading the methods below to be able to remove the Vodafone restriction, without calling.
Let’s jump right in!
There are many ways to remove the Age Restriction off your Vodafone carrier or broadband.
When you’re not over 18, turning OFF the Age Restriction wouldn’t be possible the correct way, but we managed to discover quite a few workarounds.
Let’s describe each of them!
The correct and guaranteed way to remove Vodafone Age Restriction is by verification!
You need to be over 18 years of age and by requesting a limitation release, you’ll shortly be allowed to access adult content through Vodafone.
Let’s take a look at the steps to do so!
- Download the My Vodafone App.
- Sign into your Vodafone Account.
- From there go to Bars & Data Alerts.
- Tap on Verify Age.
- Provide the necessary documentation.
- Wait for the Activation
On a Vodafone broadband, your age restriction settings are set to OFF by default.
That means you should have access to adult content, without making any changes.
However, when you’re restricted you can sign-in your online Vodafone account and disable the age restriction.
In case you didn’t know you can manage your Bars in the My Vodafone application.
For example, The Data Bar allows you to block data for ALL users and the Premium Rate Bar provides users to restrict competition or subscription in regard to premium rate texts.
When your age is verified but the Vodafone Age restriction is still activated, perhaps you’ll need to manually disable the feature.
It’s extremely easy to do, and all you need is the My Vodafone application installed on your device and be signed in.
Follow the steps to manually disable the Vodafone Age Restriction:
- Open the My Vodafone App.
- Go to Account Settings.
- Head to Content Control.
- From there tap on Change.
- Toggle OFF the Age Restriction.
- Exit the menu.
The adult content limitations should now be lifted, and in case it’s not, keep reading!
In case you’ve already verified your age, but the age restriction won’t turn off, then you simply need to reboot your Vodafone mobile.
We’re speaking of a simple restart which can be done by holding the Power button of your mobile device until you can select Shutdown.
- It’s important to Turn OFF the device and then Turn ON (not restart)!
When you turn on your Vodafone mobile after, you’ll have to insert your PIN code and test whether you can access adult content now.
In case the restriction is still there, perhaps you’ll need to use a workaround to solve the problem.
Let’s learn more in the next solution!
When your age has been verified and the Age Restriction setting is manually disabled, you’re still blocked from some content, we got you covered.
The next step is to reinsert your SIM card or restart your Vodafone router to refresh the cellular or broadband you’re currently using.
This should be enough to resolve the problem and lift the age restriction limitations permanently.
In case this doesn’t help, but you still want to get over the restriction, keep reading!
Tip: For Vodafone Broadband, restart the network router and test again!
When Vodafone Age Restriction won’t turn OFF, using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to connect is a way to bypass the age restriction and access any adult content.
This is not the correct way of lifting the restriction and will only work until you connect through a VPN.
What you need to do is acquire a VPN app/software or browser extension on a computer/mobile connected to Vodafone (cellular or broadband).
From there you need to select a British server to connect to and from there start using your Vodafone services.
You should be able to access any content now as if the Age Restriction is not there. However, once the VPN is disabled, your backdoor will also be locked.
Tip: Find a VPN that will get the job done at the bottom of the guide!
When you’re not over 18 years of age, you can’t disable the Vodafone Age Restriction, therefore we’re going to look for alternatives.
This workaround works only on the Vodafone mobile device that you complete the below steps on. Let’s jump right in!
- Go to Settings > More Settings.
- Tap on Mobile Networks.
- Select APN (Access Point Names).
- From there select the currently used APN.
- When the settings open change the Proxy IP and Port.
- Open the Settings.
- Go to Cellular.
- Choose APN > Select APN.
- Change the IP and Port.
Change the values to the following:
- Proxy IP Address: 220.127.116.11
- Port: 3128
When you’ve changed the Proxy IP and port, make sure to Save the settings before exiting the menu.
You’ll notice that the Age Restriction is now disabled and in case it’s not, simply perform another restart on your Vodafone mobile.
This should get the job done!
You can always contact Vodafone Customer Service to ask for help lifting the limitations but you have to be over 18 years of age.
Otherwise, it would be pointless to waste your time as well as the Vodafone employee’s. Test our workaround first to check whether they would help!
Thus, Vodafone Age Restriction won’t turn OFF because you haven’t restarted your mobile device since the age verification. Users also need to check whether the feature has been disabled in the My Vodafone app or use VPN to bypass the Age Restriction!
We hope that now you understand why Vodafone Age Restriction won’t turn OFF and what are the best possible ways to bypass the limitation.
What we’ve learned is that using a VPN or changing the Proxy IP & Port settings can temporarily bypass the Vodafone Age Restriction!
