Verizon jetpack not working and don’t know what to do? Well, this issue could be based on several factors that we will discuss in this post and hopefully get your Verizon Jetpack working again.
One of the reasons your Verizon jetpack could not be functioning as intended is due to a malfunctioning power outlet as well as worn-out or faulty batteries. It is also recommended to check the charger’s functionality as this is another potential cause.
If none of these was able to help, next we are going to address each possible issue and provide you with a solution so keep reading.
Why Does Verizon Jetpack Not Turning on?
As we already mentioned, the most frequent cause for not turning on Verizon is the power.
No power equals not turning on, so we recommend inspecting all cables related to your Verizon jetpack as well as the battery.
Next, remove any power splitters or adapters and connect your jetpack to an open wall outlet directly.
Once you have done all that and the issue is still there you can now start troubleshooting.
Step #1 – Check Battery
If your Verizon jetpack isn’t turning on, we recommend checking the battery of your device.
It is well-known that if your jetpack is running a worn-out battery, your device won’t be able to start up at all, so make sure to check that before proceeding further.
An average battery replacement of a Verizon jetpack device doesn’t cost much, but keep in mind that the process must be performed by specialized parties.
The stock battery unit you will receive directly from the accessory store will cost you up to $40, plus the replacement.
The battery model you will receive is going to be Gold Top HG and its parameters are 12V, 8AH. Not much better than the original, but it should still handle around 6 hours up-time.
Step #2 – Check Charger
If the battery is not the cause you should check for a faulty charger. Make sure to verify the functionality of your charger, because if your device is unable to charge, you won’t be able to turn it on due to low battery.
Keep in mind that there won’t be any visual damage if your Jetpack isn’t working so you will have to attempt with another charger to determine whether the issue is coming from the charger or not.
Step #3 – Check Wall Outlet
If your power outlet isn’t operating as intended, you might have a hard time turning on your Verizon jetpack due to, again, low battery.
To properly identify the issue, plug your verified to work charger and determine the origin of the issue. If you are still unable to charge, try with another outlet throughout your household.
If your Verizon jetpack is still not turning on, you might need to call Verizon customer service for further assistance on this issue.
The problem could be related to a hardware issue and resolving it at home could be impossible.
Why Does Verizon Jetpack Not Connecting to Internet?
If your Version jetpack is unable to connect with Wi-Fi, there might be an issue with your device’s transmitter.
Before we start troubleshooting the jetpack, we recommend performing a router/modem restart to ensure a good quality network.
Then test (use another device) the network your Verizon jetpack is supposed to be connected to and ensure that it is working well.
Once ready, let’s proceed with the steps and hopefully get your Verizon jetpack connected to your network.
Step #1 – Sim Card Not Installed
If your Verizon jetpack cannot connect to the internet, check if your SIM card is installed properly. Guidelines come up with the conclusion that a malfunctioning sim card could interfere with the signal transmitted from your device.
You will be able to identify if your sim card isn’t working properly by checking the right top corner of your home screen.
There will be a text saying No Service if your Sim card is unable to connect to the network or there isn’t one at all.
Step #2 – Low Internal Battery
Another factor that could also prevent the Verizon jetpack from pairing up with a network is a low internal battery.
If your device’s battery is low, you won’t be able to access any networks which could also result in no internet.
To fix this, make sure that your device is fully charged before attempting to pair up with a connection of any kind.
Step #3 – Storage/Data Exceeded on Device
Even if your Jetpack is actively running, it might still be unable to connect with your Wi-Fi network due to excess data on your phone.
Our advice in such cases is to remove some storage to free up space on your Jetpack so you could connect to your Wi-Fi.
The recommended space you should have on your device is 500MB – 1GB dedicated to network updates and connectivity data.

Why is Verizon Jetpack Not Showing Up?
There are several factors that could prevent Jetpack’s MiFi network from showing up.
It is either not tethered properly or you have not turned the feature that transmits the connection.
Also make sure that your Jetpack’s light is on because if your light isn’t blinking, your device won’t be receiving any power.
Step 1 – Discharge MiFi
In such cases, you would have to connect the MiFi charging port to a computer, wall charger, or smart plug to receive a new flow of electricity.
After doing so, if your device is working correctly, the light shall light up and indicate that your device has turned on.
If the light doesn’t light on, you would have to consider grabbing a new Verizon Jetpack device to benefit from a wireless internet connection.
Step 2 – Disable Wireless N Mode
Another thing you can try when your SSID does not appear in the available networks is to disable Wireless N.
Here is how to do it properly:
- Turn On MiFi and Navigate to http://mifi.admin
- Sign in with the default password “admin”.
- Select the Wi-Fi tab.
- Change the mode called “802.11 to 802.11g + 802.11b”
- Click Apply to confirm the changes.
Users share that the Wireless N mode of your router could occasionally interfere with the connection of your MiFi.
Those steps are meant to shut off this specific mode so your MiFi network could appear on the available networks.
