Not only that, but we’ll also be giving you a direct comparison of Verizon Cloud and iCloud!
To transfer Verizon Cloud to iCloud, you first need to download the content from Verizon Cloud to your iPhone. From there, you can move and transfer those files to iCloud.
Right before we discuss the process, what is the reason why people want to move their files from the Verizon Cloud storage to their iOS cloud storage?
A lot of people are wondering why they should transfer photos from Verizon Cloud to iCloud, along with other content and files. This whole Verizon Cloud vs. iCloud debate has been going on for years now, but what’s the truth behind it?
With iCloud, you’ll easily have access to the content stored on it across devices that are capable of accessing iCloud, whereas Verizon Cloud would only be accessible to systems that have it synced.
Moreover, iCloud is a free service, you don’t have to pay for anything to be able to store content, media, and other types of files there. Although the free allocation is just 5 GB, it will be for free!
Another reason would be the fact that you’re transferring your services from Verizon to a different provider. If this is what the case is, you’d really need to transfer and move your files from the online storage of Verizon to your device!
Now that we know these, what’s the process of relocating the files? How do you transfer your files from Verizon’s storage to your iPhone’s online storage?
In this guide, we’ll be going over the complete steps on how to transfer photos from your Verizon Cloud to iCloud comprehensively!
As opposed to other guides in the market, we’ll give you all the details you need to know!
For this guide, we’ll be dividing it into two (2) parts; downloading content from Verizon Cloud to your iPhone, and uploading the said downloaded content to your iCloud.
This part will be highlighting the steps you need to take to be able to download content from the Verizon Cloud to your iPhone.
There’s no way of transferring content from the Verizon Cloud to the iCloud directly. You’d have to download it to your device first.
So, here’s how you can do that.
- Ensure that the Verizon Cloud app is up-to-date.
- Access it, and then tap Menu in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Choose the type of content you want to download.
- Select the specific file by pressing and holding it.
- Tap Download at the bottom of the navigation bar (arrow down icon).
NOTE: For Android devices, it will be stored in the vault. It will be a newly created folder in your device and that’s where all of the downloaded content from Verizon Cloud goes, regardless of the file type.
This process is known to be more complex and detailed compared to downloading from the Verizon Cloud to the iPhone.
So, here’s the process of how you can do just that:
The first thing you want to do is to check if you have enough space in your storage. You can do this by following these steps:
- Access the Settings app or icon on your device.
- From there, tap on Your Name > iCloud.
- You’ll be able to see the remaining storage at the top bar or graph.
You can also turn it on by toggling the radio button that says iCloud Drive.
Once done, the next step is to enable Photos as well as Documents & Data on the iCloud storage. To do this, access iCloud by clicking on your name in Settings.
Then, scroll down until you see Photos, toggle the radio button beside it. At the bottom part of that category, you’ll also see Documents & Data, toggle its radio button, too.
Once those are enabled and activated, the next step is to launch and access the Files App on your iPhone.
For iPhones that are running on iOS 11 and later, the Files App would automatically be present on the device. On the other hand, you’ll be able to download it from the App Store.
Then, launch it and simply click Enable/Activate iCloud Storage. What this will do is activate the storage, allowing you to be able to transfer files from your iPhone to iCloud.
Lastly, select the files that you want to move from your iPhone’s storage to the iCloud.
You’ll be asked for certain permissions before doing this, so don’t worry about copying or moving the files you don’t want to store in the virtual storage.
After that, you simply have to wait for all the files to be transferred from your iPhone storage to your iCloud storage!
Once that’s done, all of the files you selected would be transferred to iCloud and they’ll automatically be stored until you initiate the deletion.
That’s it! That’s the entire process of how you can move or relocate photos, videos, sounds, documents, and other files from your Verizon Cloud to your iCloud! It’s not a direct one-click process, but it’s easy!
