Toniebox Flashing Blue Light – 6 Proven Steps to Fix!
Tip: Follow our steps in consecutive order!
1. Wait Until the Toniebox Stops Uploading
One of the reasons for the flashing blue light is the ongoing uploading process of the Toniebox.
The uploading of the digital content could take up to 30-60 seconds, but based on the size of the files, the flashing blue light may persist for longer than that.
Typically, if the flashing blue light is related to digital content being uploaded, wait about 10-15 minutes and determine if the Toniebox will start behaving normally again.
When Toniebox Has Finished Uploading?
There are two ways of knowing when the Toniebox has finished uploading digital content:
- The audiobook will be able to play new audiobooks and content.
- The flashing blue light will stop once the content is uploaded.
Hence, if the Toniebox takes longer than 10 minutes to upload the content, do not unplug the device until the flashing blue light goes off.
Note: The flashing blue light should go off after 10 minutes if the content is being uploaded!
2. Reconnect the Toniebox with Wi-Fi
Generally, the pulsing blue light and the flashing blue light have in common that the Toniebox is actively searching for a nearby Wi-Fi network in both states.
If the flashing light isn’t going away by itself, it is possible that the Toniebox has disconnected from the wireless network.
Follow these steps to re-establish the Wi-Fi connection of the Toniebox:
- Open the “mytonies” app on your mobile device.
- Next, tap the icon at the bottom right-hand corner.
- Tap the “Toniebox” button situated on the header.
- Next, choose the Toniebox you wish to reconnect.
- Then, select “Wi-Fi” on the right-hand side section.
- Follow the on-screen steps to set up the Wi-Fi.
Note: The Toniebox must be connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi thread!
3. Power Reset the Toniebox
If you have been waiting for a while now and the flashing blue light is still there, the next step is to power cycle the Toniebox.
This is an effective type of reset that resolves any issues with the settings or system of the Toniebox, resulting in the flashing blue light.
Follow these instructions to power reset the Toniebox:
- Disconnect the Toniebox from the charging station.
- Turn the box upside down so the ears point down.
- Push the ears into the TOniebox for ~10 seconds.
- After 10 seconds, connect the box to the station.
- Finally, check if the blue flashing light is still there.
Toniebox Reboot Vs. Factory Reset!
If the Toniebox remains connected to the charging station while performing the steps above, all content and data will be erased from the audiobook.
To reset the power of the Toniebox, unplug the unit from the station first before powering it off.
Alert: Accidentally erasing all settings of the Toniebox means you must set up the device again!
4. Update the “mytonies” App Firmware!
If the Toniebox keeps flashing blue, it could be because of an outdated app dependency.
If the firmware version of the “mytonies” mobile application isn’t updated to the most current firmware version, functionality issues may start occurring with the physical audiobook.
Note: The mobile device must be connected to the internet to update applications!
How to Update “mytonies” On Android?
- Open the Google Play store on your Android.
- Tap on your profile icon situated at the top-right.
- After that, select the “Manage device & apps.”
- Find the “mytonies” application from the list.
- Press the “Update” button next to the app to start.
How to Update “Mytonies” On iOS?
- Open the App Store on your iPhone/iPad device.
- Press on your profile icon at the top-right corner.
- Scroll to “Pending Updates & Release Notes.”
- Select the “mytonies” application from the list.
- Tap “Update,” next to the mobile app and wait.
Tip: Update the firmware of the “mytonies” periodically to keep using the app error-free.
5. Relocate the Toniebox Audiobook!
A persistent flashing light could also mean that the Toniebox is currently looking for nearby compatible Wi-Fi networks to connect with.
If you’ve placed the audiobook too far away from the network router, it is possible that the Toniebox is unable to establish a connection from there.
Relocate the router or the Toniebox to shorten the proximity!
Since Toniebox doesn’t support a 5GHz, it must be connected with a 2.4GHz network—the requirements for a 2.4GHz network are at least 15-20 meters.
Hence, place the Toniebox within a 15-20 meter radius of the network device and re-establish the Wi-Fi connection successfully.
How to Know if Wi-Fi is Secure?
You must account for general occurrences such as wireless interference that could often unpair the Toniebox from Wi-Fi.
Ensure no other wireless devices are using the same type of signal near the Toniebox, and do not place the device in enclosed spaces.
Note: Wireless Wi-Fi interference can be caused by RF signal transmitters/receivers!
6. Restore the Default Toniebox Settings
The most potent solution, whenever Toniebox is flashing blue, is to erase all of the audiobook settings and set up the device from scratch.
This is an effective resolution when you’ve misconfigured the settings of the audiobook, or something has caused the Toniebox to crash.
The Toniebox must be connected to the station to factory reset!
Follow these instructions to factory reset the Toniebox in easy steps:
- Make sure that the Toniebox is connected to the station.
- Check if the Toniebox charging station is powered on.
- Push the ears of the Toniebox downwards for 10 seconds.
- Release the ears once the audio signal has been heard.
- Wait until the Toniebox finalizes the initial factory reset.
How to Setup Toniebox After a Factory Reset?
Once the factory reset is complete, all settings of the Toniebox and its profile in the “mytonies” app installed on your mobile will be erased.
To start the setup from scratch, open the mytonies application, press “Add Device,” and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: You must set up the Toniebox from scratch after converting it to factory defaults!
Quick Recap:
Toniebox flashing blue could be due to underlying issues with the “mytonies” application or an outdated firmware of the audiobook.
To resolve the blue LED light, power cycle the audiobook, update the firmware of the app, and conduct a factory reset on the Toniebox!
