Telstra Change of Ownership – Quick & Easy Steps
Tip: For a successful transfer, follow the steps in consecutive order!
How to Transfer Telstra Personal Ownership?
Unlike business transfers that take much more research and effort, assigning or receiving a Telstra ownership within a personal environment is easy.
The transfer call provides the agent with the necessary information from both parties and could last as short as ∼3 minutes.
So, let’s learn how to transfer personal ownership at Telstra!
Method #1 Request a Change Via Call
The widely preferable method of transferring a Telstra service is by performing a three-way conference call between you, the service owner, and a Telstra agent.
If you’re the initiator of the contract, service an agent – 13 22 00 – and provide the necessary details required by the agent.
Once you’ve provided the recipient’s phone number or the subscription’s current owner, the agent will contact him and clarify the details.
If all information is received and everything undergoes smoothly, the transfer should take effect in under 7 business days.
Note: Ensure you’ve clarified all details with the other party before contacting the agent.
Method #2 Physically Visit a Telstra Store
If a three-way conference call does not satisfy you or the other party, it’s best to physically visit one of Telstra’s stores in your area and discuss it with an agent in real-time.
If you’re assigning the ownership to yourself, you and the current service owner must visit the store together.
Physical Transfer: Requirements
Before visiting the store with the current service owner, make sure you have the following:
- The service number of the account you’d like to transfer.
- Can provide a valid ID form for at least 18-year-old clients.
- Can satisfy the Telstra credit and payment requirements.
If you’re willing to transfer the service to an existing Telstra account, you will also need to provide all personal and credit information of that registration.
You and the service owner will be provided with all of the necessary transfer forms you need to fill out to assign the new name.
How to Use Telstra Change of Ownership Form for Business?
The “Change of Ownership” only applies if you wish to transfer Telstra service to an existing business, as many more details must be filled out and included.
You can acquire the digital transfer form anytime and fill it in with your details and the details of the service owner.
Let’s learn how to use Telstra’s business transfer form!
Step #1 Download the Form
Using Telstra’s change of ownership form requires downloading the document first and either filling it out digitally or printing it out and delivering it to an office.
All you need to do is access the download page of the document and acquire the “.pdf” file on your computer, laptop or mobile.
- So, go to Telstra’s website and get the Change of Ownership for Small Businesses.
Tip: Press the “Download” button at the top right to acquire the file with the form!
Method #1 Fill Out the Form Digitally
The easiest way to fill out the form digitally is to use software such as Paint, which is available on all Windows devices, to fill out each of the fields manually.
An alternative is to extract the PDF file in advanced software such as Photoshop or ask someone more fluent to do it for you.
Method #2 Print the Telstra Form
If you will be transferring the business physically, it’s best to print out all the documents and handwrite each field with the required information.
If that’s the case, press on the “Print” button next to the download icon and wait until all eleven pages are printed out on your end.
Note: If filling out the form digitally, ensure each field is readable!
Step #2 Fill Out All Sections
Once you have downloaded or printed the file, it’s time to fill out the agreement’s sections to legitimise the deal between both parties.
Here’s how to complete each section accurately:
[Section 1a] About the Current Owner
In this section, fill out the required details about the current owner, including owner name, company name, business or trading name, ACN, ABN/ARBN and account numbers.
[Section 1b] Business Only Inbound Services
Here, fill out all the inbound service numbers and the corresponding account numbers and clarify whether each number is “EROU” compatible with the owner.
[Section 1c] Current Owner Agreement
In this section, the current owner must agree to the transfer by filling out a full name, date of birth, contact number, email address, signature and the date the form is being filled out.
[Section 2] The New Owner
Include all details required about the new owner of the contract in this section, including company name, trading name, ACN, and an existing or creating new account number.
[Section 3a] Opening a New Business Account
Specify the required details about hosting and operating a new Telstra business account by filling out all of the fields.
Both parties must provide the necessary details for this section.
[Section 3b] Inbound Services

An “Inbound Service Authorised Representative” one and two are required for this section.
[Section 4] All New Account Owners’ Identifications
Fill out the required personal details of all new owners of the contract as well as the State of issue by each party.
You must associate payment or credit details with the new owner here.
[Section 5] The New Owner Agrees
The new contract owner must agree to all earlier-stated causes in this section to accept the transfer and legitimise the contract.
Include the required personal and business details.
[Section 6] Services to be Transferred
This section includes all Telstra services that will be transferred between the two parties.
Review all points to verify no misconceptions or stated errors in the pronounced services.
Note: The last section includes all underlying terms and conditions!
Step #3 Submit the Form
Once the form has been filled, the last step is to either digitally submit the document or deliver it to a Telstra office accompanied by the owner/recipient if you’ve printed it.
If submitting the form digitally, you can use the My Telstra app once you’re signed in with the appropriate account.
Once the corresponding agent has reviewed the form, you should receive an answer on the associated email address or personal number you’ve filled out in the form.
There you will find whether any extra steps are required and what to do next.
Note: Feedback on business ownership alteration typically takes 7 business days!
