How To Fix Sprint Magic Box Not Connecting to Network?
There are three general reasons for your Magic box to stay on “Connecting to network” continuously.
Users say that it sometimes takes a lot of time to connect and some of them even shared that they’ve left their Magic box overnight, and it was connected in the morning.
You can leave this approach as a last resort and try our solutions first:
Solution #1 Hard Reset the Magic Box
The very first thing to do is to restart/power cycle your Sprint Magic box. This can be done by unplugging it from the power source or letting the battery die.
Many people struggle to even restart the device but most of them confirm that it takes 5 – 6 hours for the battery to die, which inevitably leads to a restart.
Another way to restart is to touch and hold the screen for a few seconds to initiate the reboot. The problem is that users share that their device either won’t restart this way or after the restart, they have a stuck logo on the screen.
This is why leaving the battery to drain out is the best actual way to perform a power cycle.
Solution #2 Setup Sprint Magic Box Over
If you’re waiting for the battery to drain out, you definitely have performed the setup process from the beginning.
However, if you jumped straight to this solution, you should know that there is another way to carry out the setup process from the beginning.
How To Setup Magic Box Correctly?
- Disconnect the battery.
- Connect the box via the power adapter.
- Use a standalone wall outlet (avoid power dividers).
- Carry out the setup process.
Alert: The battery is intended to be used only during the test period and as a portable charger, not permanently.
After you unplug the battery and hook the box with the power cable, the screen should flash indicating that the startup process has begun.
It might take a while but this is a good sign. Lastly, follow the steps to complete the setup and test if it will connect.
Solution #3 Relocate the Magic Box
Next, you should position your magic box into a better spot.
It is possible that the device is losing reception due to bad positioning and by placing the Magic box in front of a window or a more open space, you should be able to get the issue resolved.
Try multiple places, near windows and other open areas in your household where the device can easily connect with a network.
If nowhere works, try putting the device outside to determine whether this is going to fix the network issues, or the problem is coming from somewhere else.
Note: Even the instructions that came with the box clearly say that you might need to try several areas in your home until you find where the best signal would be.
How To Fix Sprint Magic Box Not Connecting to Phone?
If your Magic box can connect with a network, but instead cannot hook up to your phone, we’ve prepared several solution methods you can try.
Solution #1 Reboot Your Phone
As simple as it sounds, the reboot has a pretty good shot at getting your phone to scan through the LTE again and get it back connected to the Magic box.
The reboot will also help if your phone device is currently experiencing any issues with the OS or overall functionality.
Solution #2 Enable LTE
It is extremely important to set your phone’s network to LTE instead of the default, automatic. Here is how to set the LTE:
- Go to the phone’s Settings.
- Choose Cellular > Cellular Options.
- Press on Enable LTE.
Solution #3 Network Reset Your Phone
A great way to re-pair your phone to the Magic box is the network reset. Network reset usually includes full erase of the Bluetooth data, WiFi data, and cellular cache.
Here is how to network reset your phone:
- Go to the Settings of your phone.
- Open the General tab.
- Scroll all the way down and select “Reset”.
- Click on “Network Reset”.
- Follow the on-screen steps.
Once ready, try to connect to your Magic box again, and if it does not work proceed with the next solution.
Solution #4 Toggle Airplane Mode ON/OFF
Users recommend toggling ON the airplane mode and then OFF. Since your Magic box produces a specific LTE data signal that is being used by newer devices.
Then you will ultimately refresh the Wi-Fi data of your phone by enabling and disabling the airplane mode.
Here is a universal guide to enable/disable airplane mode on any smartphone:
- Go to the quick menu of your phone or settings.
- Find the airplane mode tab.
- Click on the slider to toggle on, and then again to toggle off.
Tip: We recommend waiting for about a minute before turning the Airplane mode back on.
Once you’re done, try reconnecting with the Magic box to see if it is going to work.
