1. Check the App’s Compatibility
The first and most crucial step is to verify that your Optus mobile is on an operating system that supports the My Optus app.
The application is available in the Google Play Store or App Store for Android and iOS devices.
- To run the Optus app on Android, you must run on Android 10.0 or later!
- To run the My Optus app on iOS, you must have an iOS 14 or higher.
Hence, if the device has not been updated in a while, the operating system may be incompatible with the Optus app.
This is why it’s time to perform a quick software update, so let’s learn how!
How to Update Optus Mobile’s System?
Android: Go to “Settings” → “System” → “System Update” → Wait → “Update Now.”
iOS: Go to “Settings” → “General” → “Software Update” → Wait → “Install Update.”
Your device may take up to 15 minutes to update the software, and when ready, test whether the Optus app is not working.
Tip: Plug your Optus mobile into the charger before starting the update!
2. Toggle Airplane Mode On/Off
If your Optus app not loading, the reason may be networking-related, and a quick solution is to toggle the Airplane Mode on and off.
This mode will temporarily restrict all external networks on your mobile, and when you turn it on again, everything will be refreshed for a clean beginning.
Airplane Mode: Android
- From the home screen, go to “Settings.”
- From there, enter “Network & Internet.”
- Toggle “Airplane Mode” on and then off.
Airplane Mode: Apple

3. Verify Your Mobile’s Internet
So, without internet access, your Optus app will never load, and you’ll be offline and unable to access and manage your account.
Hence, checking and verifying your internet access on your Optus app mobile is crucial, whether it’s a Wi-Fi connection or Cellular 4G/5G.
- If you’re on a Wi-Fi, verify that the broadband is accessible.
- If you’re using Cellular 4G/5G, toggle OFF and ON the data.
Try to open a web browser and surf online, regardless of the connection type on your Optus mobile, since this is the fastest way to verify if you’re online.
