No caller ID keeps calling me! How to stop it? Don’t worry, that means that someone is calling you but his number is not being sent through.
It could be a bug, or maybe someone is hiding his number. It doesn’t really matter what is happening, because here you’ll learn how to stop “No caller ID” from calling.
To resolve the problem, try restarting your smartphone and dial a proven number. Next, reinsert your SIM card and try enabling the DND mode with only favorite callers allowed. If that doesn’t fix the issue, block the unidentified number that keeps calling you.
Let’s first review who might be calling and what is the unidentified number you’re seeing on your screen.
Why No Caller ID Keeps Calling Me And Hanging Up?
Callers with numbers your phone doesn’t recognize could be hackers or stores.
Most of the time your phone might be responsible for not recognizing the number and showing it as “No Caller ID”.
This issue is well-known to only occur with iPhones, but it was seen on Androids as well.
Let’s see what could be happening when you’re seeing the number that dialed your phone as “No Caller ID”.
Number not Recognized
iPhones most often don’t recognize unknown callers with privacy settings enabled.
Someone Suspicious
Maybe someone is trying to reach out to you, without you knowing who.
A Store is Calling
If a store is calling in relation to a purchase you’ve made, for instance, you won’t be able to see the ID since their number is encrypted.
Phone Issue
A problem with your phone itself might be the reason why you’re not recognizing any calls.
Hidden Organization/Company
Sometimes organizations or companies would have their caller IDs hidden on purpose to remain discreet.
Let’s now see ALL possible ways to prevent “No caller ID” from appearing ever again! Keep in mind that even if you’re using Android, our solutions will help!
How To Prevent No Caller ID Keeps Calling Me iPhone?
It is best to first look for the issue in the behavior of your iPhone.
Sometimes, a problem with your cellular subscription might be the reason why your device is not recognizing the number.
Try rebooting your iPhone and if you’re still getting called from unknown numbers, try some of the following solutions:
Solution #1 Dial From A Proven Number
First, we suggest dialing your own number from a proven source, via the phone of your family for instance.
Wait for the call to connect and check if the caller ID is still unknown on the iPhone.
Make sure that the smartphone you’re calling from doesn’t have any cellular privacy settings enabled.
This way you will be able to see the entire mobile number of the way you named it in your contacts.
If you’re still seeing “No Caller ID”, we suggest reinserting your SIM card in the next solution.
Solution #2 Reinsert The Sim Card
A quick way to fix any cellular issues is to reinsert your SIM card. This will refresh the caller ID memory of your iPhone, therefore making it read the caller’s IDs.
To reinsert the SIM card of your iPhone, follow the steps down below:
- Grab the SIM instrument supplied in your iPhone’s delivery box.
- Insert the instrument into the small pinhole above the SIM compartment.
- Take out the SIM card and wait for a minute.
- Re-insert the SIM card into the compartment and put it back into your iPhone.
Tip: Again, try calling from a proven number to determine if that will fix the issue.
Solution #3 Use DND Mode
The best way to block any calls, in general, is by using the “DND” mode.
This feature would block all calls that have your number dialed in or redirect them straight to voicemail if you have one enabled.
If the “No Caller ID” number is someone important you must hear from, they will be able to leave you a message in the voice mail.
To enable the “DND” mode on your iPhone, you can either use the side button to suppress all notifications or go to the following options:
Settings > Activity > Do Not Disturb > Enable.
Solution #4 Allow Only Favourite Callers
Another great way to block when someone with no caller ID keeps calling me, is by allowing only favorite contacts to dial your number.
This can be managed from the iPhone’s cellular settings and can be configured any way you like.
To allow only favorite callers to dial your number, follow the steps down below:
- Go to the settings of your iPhone and enter the “DND” tab.
- Go to the PHONE app and tap on “Allow Calls From”.
- At the bottom of the page, you will be able to see a section called “Groups”.
- Tap on the group section.
- Now only your favorite contacts will be able to dial you.
Note: Please note that with this feature enabled, even unknown callers who haven’t hidden their number will be blocked as well.
Make sure to add anyone that you would like to be able to call you to Favourites.
If this solution doesn’t suit you, proceed with the next one where you will learn how to block ONLY numbers who have hidden their number.
Solution #5 Block The Number
If none of the solutions seem to resolve the “No caller ID keeps calling me” problem, there is a way to prevent them from calling your number anymore.
If you cannot make sure who might be calling you, it is best if you block them temporarily before contacting your service provider to learn what is going on.
To block the “No caller ID” number, follow the steps down below:
- Open the contacts on your iPhone and select the Info button next to the number you wish to block.
- Tap on the plus sign to add them to your contact.
- Go to the contact you have just made and scroll all the way down.
- Find the red button labeled as “Block This Number” and tap it.
From now on, this caller will be unable to dial your number, and anytime you wish to unblock them, execute the same steps but with the Unblock button.
Solution #6 Check-In With Your Service Provider
The best way so far to learn who’s calling your number is to contact your service provider.
Simply give them a call or demand a list of all of your caller’s details and you will know exactly who’s calling you once you get to know the location of the call.
If you have an app that lets you manage your cellular usage, you might also check who’s calling you from there.
You should be able to find the list with all the callers who have called you in the “Info” tab somewhere throughout your app.
