Are you wondering if there’s a way to watch Netflix on DISH without internet? Have you seen too few guides and tutorials online but you can’t find what you’re really looking for?
Fret not, because, in today’s guide, we will walk you through how you can watch your favorite titles on Netflix through your DISH receiver without the internet.
To access Netflix titles, shows, and movies on DISH without an internet connection, you would need to have an account logged in already to your DISH receiver.
Before we get into that a little bit deeper, let’s first discuss one of the most commonly asked questions about Netflix and DISH.
Is Netflix Free With DISH?
A few years back, Netflix, the largest video-on-demand (VOD) streaming platform joined hands with DISH to be able to cater to the needs of more people.
Back then, all new DISH subscribers were given the privilege to have a free 6-month trial of Netflix. Of course, this was when Netflix was not being acknowledged and known by many.
Unfortunately, that’s not what the case is now. Today, you can sign up and register to Netflix through your DISH subscription. Moreover, you’ll also be billed for it through DISH, too.
However, if you are asking if Netflix is built-in with DISH receivers, then the answer is yes! You can actually access Netflix on your DISH receiver even if you’re not connected to a WiFi network!
What DISH Receivers Have Netflix Pre-Built?
And while the answer to the question is Netflix free with DISH is no, you’ll definitely be overjoyed to find out that you can access the service on your DISH without any hassle!
But, let’s take note, though, that there are several DISH receivers that allow this. The receivers that would let you access Netflix without internet include:
- Wally
- AirTV Mini
- Evolve
- Joey
- Joey 2.0
- Joey 3
- Wireless Joey
- 4K Joey
- Hopper Duo
- Hopper 2 with Sling
- Hopper 3
- Super Joey
So, if you are using any of these DISH receivers above, you’re all set!
In the guide below, we will be taking you through the steps on accessing Netflix on your DISH receiver without an internet connection!
Is Netflix on DISH Without Internet Possible?
Before you start the process, you first have to ensure that you have a Netflix account logged in. Otherwise, you’d still have to connect your television to the internet to create an account and log in.
Once you’re all set, here are the steps so you can access Netflix on your DISH receiver!
Here’s how you can watch Netflix on your DISH receiver:
Step #1: Turn on or Activate Your Receiver
First things first, is your receiver currently active? A lot of people often forget that their receivers are the keys to this activity.
If the receiver is turned off, then the entire process would not work.
Step #2: Turn the TV On
Once it’s turned on, the next thing you want to ensure is that the television is functioning.
Now is also the perfect time to check and see what port the receiver is connected to. For instance, if there are multiple HDMI ports on the TV, make sure that the display of the TV is exactly where the receiver is connected.
You’ll know that you’re on the right path if you see the home menu.
Step #3: Process to the TV’s Menu
Then, the next thing to do is to proceed to the main menu of the television. This will be the page where you’ll see the entirety of your DISH service.
You’ll see icons and buttons like different networks and programs, apps, settings, etc.
Step #4: Navigate to the Netflix App
On the homepage, the Netflix application should be visible. No, you don’t have to download it; it should be there automatically as it is one of the built-in applications.
Step #5: Access Netflix
Once you find it, just select it by pressing OK on your remote or ENTER.
You should be able to see your account there as well as the titles and shows for that particular period.
And that’s it! That’s how easy and simple it is to access Netflix on your DISH satellite without WiFi!

I Don’t See Netflix on the List of Apps, What Should I Do?
There have been several reports where they mentioned that they were not able to see Netflix on their receivers.
There could be a couple of reasons why the Netflix app is not showing on the list of networks and programs. Nevertheless, here are some of the things you can do:
Method #1: Getting a New Receiver
It could be because of the fact that the receiver you are using does not have it. As we mentioned above, there’s only a limited number of receivers that are pre-built and programmed with Netflix.
Do a check-up on the list of receivers above and double-check that your receiver is there.
If you don’t find it on that list, the next best thing to do is to upgrade the current DVR you have to a new one – ideally, the one that’s capable of streaming Ultra HD and 4K.
Method #2: Accessing Channel 302
Another alternative is going to Netflix manually is by typing in Channel 302 on the remote. This is the channel that will take you to the Netflix program.
So, if you don’t see the application on the list, you can go to channel 302 to get it.
Method #3: Netflix Remote Button
Take note that this method only works for the AirTV Mini receiver only. This is because this receiver is the one and the only receiver that has the Netflix button.
Should you be unable to see the Netflix app on the list, simply click on the Netflix button on the remote. It will automatically take you to the app and you don’t need to navigate to it through the TV!
These are the three (3) alternative methods you can try if you don’t see the Netflix app. Don’t worry, just because you don’t see the app doesn’t mean you can’t have it anymore!
Contact DISH Support
Should you find all of these unsuccessful, contact DISH’s support team for help. Tell them that you’ve tried the steps we outlined, but, unfortunately, it’s still not working.
They will do all sorts of technical troubleshooting to help you with it. But, if they deem that what you need is a new receiver, they’ll mention it to you.
