Solution #1 Restart Your Device
This is a simple solution that could save you a lot of trouble. All the other solutions may include adjusting device settings.
You do not want to start changing device settings unless it is a problem that cannot be solved any other way.
To restart your device:
- Press and hold the power button until the device goes off
- Press the power button to restart
- Alternatively, press and hold the power button until power options appear
- For Android, select Restart and wait for the device to reboot
- For Apple phones, drag the slider to the right to restart
Note: If you have a device that uses a removable battery, simply turn it off and remove the battery for about 30 seconds.
Return the battery and turn it on.

- Go to Settings
- Select Connections or Mobile Networks
- Select Access Point Names
- Tap on Add APN
When the APM fields open up, edit each field with the following information.
- Name: Koodo Mobile
- APN: sp.koodo.com
- Username: (Blank)
- Password: (Blank)
- Proxy: (Blank)
- Port: (Blank)
- Server: (Blank )
- MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/koodo/mmsc
- MMS Port: 80
- MMS Proxy: 74.49.0.18
- MCC: 302
- MNC: 220
- Authentication type: (Select none)
- APN type: (default,supl, mms)
- APN protocol: Select IPv4)
- Bearer: (Unspecified)
- Mobile virtual network operator: (none)
Note: The value "Blank" simply means that you do not add any information to the respective field.
iPhone APN Settings
In the case of the iPhone, you can also edit your APN. It is important to state that, most iPhones do not suffer from APN update issues.
They will get updated automatically when you place a new SIM. Even so, there are situations when you have to update the APN.
- Go to Settings
- Select Cellular
- Select Cellular Data Options
- Tap on Cellular Networks
- Under the APN field enter the link sp.koodo.com and leave the other fields blank.
Solution #5 Start Your Device in Safe Mode
The one solution that can resolve all issues affecting your device is to start it in Safe Mode.
This approach will diagnose and resolve all issues that could be affecting your phone.
Here are the steps to get your phone into safe mode for smart devices.
- Press and hold the Power button
- When power options appear on your screen, press and hold the power off icon until a Safe Mode prompt appears
- Release the screen then tap on Safe Mode to confirm that you want to restart the phone in Safe Mode
- The phone will automatically reboot in Safe Mode. The entire reboot process should last between 20 and 30 seconds for most devices
- When the device is back on, you can check to see if it is in safe mode in the lower left corner
- If safe mode is enabled, you can test to see if the issue is resolved by asking someone to text you.
- If the message is successful, you have resolved the error and the phone can be restarted
- To exit safe mode, simply press and hold the power button then select restart.
Note: When a phone is started in safe mode only a few apps work. Most of the non-essential apps are turned off to optimize performance.
Solution #6: Factory Reset Your Phone
If all the above attempts fail, you have to reset your device. Factory resetting a phone restores the default configuration.
This eliminates any corruption in your settings that could be affecting your case. To factory reset your device follow these instructions.
For Android:
- Go to Settings
- Select Backup and Reset
- Tap on Factory Data Reset
- Select Reset Device
- Tap on Delete All
This should set your device to factory mode and allow you to access all services on Koodo.
For iPhone:
- Go to Settings
