We will also discuss the quickest and most straightforward ways of ending your existing contract.
ID Mobile Cancel Contract: The Ultimate Guide
Knowing how to cancel your ID mobile contract is essential. Whatever your reason may be, you need to be aware of their terms and conditions.
You should also know the ways to end your contract. Otherwise, you may have to pay unnecessary charges.
What to Know Before You Cancel ID Mobile Contract
Unfortunately, only a few people know how to end their ID mobile subscription.
For instance, others may have thought that cancelling their debit card will end their plan. But that is not the case.
In this scenario, your plan will remain active, and you will continue to pay charges. You need to contact them and inform them about your request.
Thus, we have gathered some of the essential facts when going about this:
Returns Window
ID mobile offers a returns window to its customers. As long as you are within this period, you can return your SIM card without any charge.
But if you go over this timeframe, your plan will continue running unless you end it.
Generally, the length of this returns window depends on where you bought your plan.
You’d have 14 days if you purchased it from a Carphone Warehouse store and 30 days if online.
Early Termination Fee
On one end, you will be subject to an early termination fee once your returns window ends.
This charge varies and depends on the remaining months of your contract. Additional usage charges may also apply.
You will know the cost of your early termination fee by multiplying your monthly plan charge and your remaining contract length.
So, if you do not want to pay a hefty price, we suggest waiting for your term to end.
Upgrading ID Mobile Plan
If you want to upgrade your ID phone plan, you won’t have to pay an early termination fee. You also don’t need to serve the remaining days on your previous contract.
But to upgrade to another plan, ID mobile considers the following factors:
- Your initial credit check
- Your payment history
- Your length of stay with them
How To Cancel ID Mobile Contract
Cancelling your ID mobile contract is easy and hassle-free. Besides contacting their customer service, there are other quick and convenient ways to go about it.
You can use their website, phone app, or even message them.
But whatever technique you do ultimately depends on your resources. It may also vary on why you are ending your plan.
So, whether you are a SIM-only or Pay Monthly user, here’s how to cancel ID mobile contract:
Method 1 – Through the Phone App/Website
The first technique involves signing into your account. Depending on your preferences, you can do this method through their website or phone app.
Below is a step-by-step guide of the process:
- Sign into your ID phone app. Alternatively, you can visit the ID Mobile website
- Go to the My Account page
- Click on Manage My Plan
- Afterwards, press the Thinking of Leaving option
- Select Switch or Cancel Now and press End My Plan
If you’re a SIM only user, you can continue using your SIM card as a Pay As You Go customer. Otherwise, you can cut it up and throw it.
But if you are a Pay Monthly user who wants to end your plan, you are subject to a 30-day disconnection period.
Thus, you will continue paying for the next 30 days.
Whatever your plan is, you need to give ID mobile at least 30 days’ notice. You will also pay an early termination fee if you’re still within your minimum term.
You will see your estimated cancellation cost on the End My Plan page.
Method 2 – Moving to A New Provider
ID mobile allows you to keep your number when you switch providers. For such cases, you’ll need a Porting Authorization Code (PAC).
But if you don’t want to bring your number, you can use your Service Termination Authorization Code (STAC).
Both codes are 9-digits long and valid for 30 days. But what makes them even more exciting is that they are free-of-charge.
You also do not need to inform ID mobile 30-days ahead.
However, you still need to pay an early termination fee.
If You Want to Keep Your Number
There are two ways to get your PAC: through text or online. For messages, you only need to send PAC DDMMYY to 65075.
Take note that the DDMMYY stands for your date of birth. For instance, 011295 is December 01, 1995.
Alternatively, you can also request your PAC through their website or phone app. Just go to your My Account page and select End My Plan.
Afterwards, press Request a PAC. You will then receive a message from ID mobile.
If You Don’t Want to Keep Your Number
Similarly, you can get your STAC through text or online. But for this option, you will need to send STAC DDMMYY to 7505.
You can also open their website or phone app and request your STAC from the End My Plan page.
Method 3 – Via Live Chat
Another way to cancel ID mobile contract is through their Live Chat. This feature is available all week.
You can contact them from 9 AM to 8 PM during the weekdays and from 9 AM to 6 PM on the weekends. You can also call them during bank holidays.
If you cannot see this option on your screen, click the Contact Us page. Scroll down and select Live Chat.
But if you still can’t find this, use a different browser. You can also turn off your browser’s security settings.
You can also try out their ChatBot if there are no available staff for their Live Chat.
This feature is open all day and can help you with various questions. Just enter a keyword, and it’ll guide you throughout the process.
Method 4 – Through Their Hotline
Lastly, you can call them at 7777 or 0333 003 7777. Remember that you may have to wait before a staff attends to you.
Thus, we suggest doing this technique only if you are not switching to a new network. Otherwise, any of the above methods will do.
Final Thoughts
There are tons of ID mobile cancel contract techniques. Whatever your mobile plan is, you can go about it online or through text.
You can also use their interactive phone app and Live Chat option. But if you prefer speaking to their staff, you can call their customer service hotline instead.
