Step #1 Plug Your Router & Extender
Before we get to the essential reset process, there are a couple of preparation steps you should undertake.
The first step, as the name suggests, is to plug in your router and the WiFi extender you wish to perform a factory reset on.
Both of the devices must be plugged into an Electrical Socket.
It’s suggested that both your router and extenders are into separate sockets and you avoid the use of an electrical splitter.
Two wall outlets should do well for the reset process, since stable power is required for this operation, especially for your Setek WiFi extender.
Note: Both devices’ LED lamps must be lit up as soon as you plug them into the power!
Step #2 Place Router Near the Extender
One last preparation factor is to take the router near the WiFi extender and wait for the Setek device to connect with the router. Only then you shall proceed with the factory reset process.
Simply put the router 5-10 Meters away from the WiFi extender and wait for the LED on the Setek unit to turn into a green color.
The green color means that the extender got successfully connected with the router and you could now perform the factory reset process.
Note: The router will also identify the connection once the extender pairs up with the device.
Step #3 Locate the Reset Button
The rest of your Setek WiFi extender consists of both pressing the physical Reset button and triggering the reset through the router’s settings.
Of course, your first task is to press the physical reset button to trigger the reset sequence on the extender.
- There is a Reset button on the bottom panel of your Setek WiFi extender!
Give the device a couple of brief looks and you should be able to locate the button, which you will have to use.
This button does not completely reset your extender but puts it in a state in which you could trigger a software reset.
Once you’ve found the button, proceed with the next step to start the essential reset!
Tip: If you struggle to locate the Reset button, unplug the device and locate the button!
