To help you with that, we put together a simple and easy process that you can perform on your own.

Step #1: Remove the TV from the Wall

Before you remove your TV from the wall, first, turn it off. Keep the LCD shut down to continue with the following processes.

After you have turned off your TV, go to the next step, which is removing it from the wall.

  1. Remove the TV from the wall.
  2. Place it on a table or shelf.
Note: Make sure the table can accommodate your TV to prevent further damage caused by falling.

Step #2: Open the Back Panel

The first step is opening the back panel. To remove it, unscrew all the screws one by one.

Take note to take your time loosening the screws. Then, secure them in a safe place where you can easily find them when you need them later on.

  1. With the back facing up, take a star screwdriver and remove the stand.
  2. Remove the smaller screws, then the screws on the outer edge.
  3. After you’ve taken out all the screws, lift back the cover slowly from the bottom.
  4. Once lifted, put a finger in between the lid and the TV.
  5. Wiggle a little and lift at the same time to remove.
Note: Some back covers have inside clips, while others just lift. If the back panel does not lift, look for hidden screws.

Step #3: Remove the Speaker Connections

Take out cables attached to the speaker jack. Get rid of the wires from both sides one by one. Find out if there are screws connected to the PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards).

  1. Look at the bottom of the TV for screws.
  2. Take out the cables placed on the upper side of the PCB.
  3. Remove the screws that hold the source PCBs and disconnect the cables.

Step #4: Remove the LCD Display

After removing the screws from the outer bracket, you can remove the casing that borders the display.

You need to do this step very carefully. You may also need the help of another person.

  1. Using vacuum cups, pull out the display panel from the internal casing.
  2. After removing the edge, place the panel in a secure place.
  3. Make sure to unclip all mounts that hold the bracket and keep them in a safe place.

Now, you will see the white panel in front of you. If you do, you will find different diffuser blades, which are used to diffuse light in the TV sets.

Note: LCDs and LEDs display good images because of these panels.

Step #5: Clean the Panel

After you take out the panel sheets, now comes the main part.

  1. Collect the small, round reflectors on the LED backlights.
  2. Clean the panel sheets with a soft cloth.
  3. Put them in their specific places.
  4. Use glue to secure them.
Note: Use blue sunglasses or a lamp to find a scratch or stain and wipe the surface gently.

If the spot doesn’t come out, try to use toothpaste on a cotton ball. Run in a circular motion to cover the spot faster.

Lastly, do the process in reverse order to assemble the TV screen again. Follow all steps one at a time and provide enough time for the entire process.

  1. Insert the panel sheets into the screen.
  2. Close the case and insert the screws on the outer bracket.
  3. Insert cables to attach the speaker connections.
  4. Secure the rear panel by screwing all the screws.
  5. Test out your TV if it still has pressure damage.

After checking, if you still see pressure spots, we suggest removing the panel again and cleaning it with toothpaste.

Pressure damage on TVs is quite tricky. You won’t know the exact cause until you open it up and see it for yourself.

It may take some time, but if you manage to do it and fix it, it will save you a lot in repair bills.
