The most important thing is that you have all the details of your current subscription and the number you want to port over.
Here are all the elements you need to get before changing your number on Mint:

Part of getting a new Mint Mobile plan is getting your SIM card. Even though they will provide you with a SIM, you can still transfer your current number.
3. Unlocked Phone
You’re also going to need an unlocked phone. If your current phone is locked, you can choose one to add to your plan.
4. Previous Carrier Details

This includes coordinating with your current non-Mint carrier to port your number.
You’re waiting for a text confirmation from Mint Mobile stating that your activation request is completed.
Here’s what happens during this time:
- Mint Mobile sends you a welcome text confirming your number.
- They will also send you a welcome email.
- Once you receive this text, your number has been transferred to Mint Mobile.

If you’re still experiencing issues with the activation process and transfer request after 24 hours, you will need to contact Mint Mobile customer support to get it all sorted out.
You can also do the same if your Mint service is not yet activated within 24 hours that your previous carrier is canceled.
