How to Fix the Foxtel Go Error Code AF502 Easily?
The solution is straightforward as long as you address the issues individually!
1. Force-Close the Foxtel Go App
The first and easiest step against the “AF502” error is to force-close the Foxtel Go app entirely and then re-open the app cleanly.
Sometimes, people only minimise the app and believe it will refresh software, but you must verify that the app is closed from the device’s temporal memory.
- On Android, go to Settings → Apps → Foxtel Go → App Info → Force Close.
- On iOS, slide up and left simultaneously from the bottom, and slide up Foxtel Go.
This will exit the Foxtel Go app entirely, so tap on the icon to restart the app.
Then, try to log in and check whether the error “AF502” will continue to appear.
Note: On older iPhones and iPads, double-press the Home button to reveal running apps!
2. Reboot the Foxtel Playout Unit
The next step is also simple and only requires a complete Foxtel Go playout device restart.
To reboot your device efficiently, you must “Shut down” the streaming player and not only restart it, which is a much more effective approach.
- To shut down your Foxtel playout mobile, press and hold the Power button!
Then, select the “Shutdown” or “Power off” option.
This will turn off your device entirely, so you’ll need to hold the Power button again after a few minutes.
When your device is rebooted, test whether Foxtel Go will allow you to sign in or still show the error “AF502.”

3. Clear the Foxtel Go Cache Data
Note: This method is only applicable to Android mobiles!
If you are receiving the error “AF502” on an Android mobile, clearing the app’s cache data is a straightforward way to solve the issue.
This will erase all settings configurations and sign you out from the app, hopefully resolving your login problem.
Here’s how to clear the Foxtel Go app cache on Android mobile:
- Open the Settings of your Android mobile.
- Press on the “Battery and device care” tile.
- Enter “Memory” → “Apps not used recently.”
- Select the Foxtel Go application from the list.
- Choose “Storage” within the “App Info” tab.
- Finally, press on “Clear cache” at the bottom.
Note: You don’t need to restart your Android mobile; only force-close the Foxtel Go app and then try to sign in and start streaming.
4. Update the Foxtel Go Application
Error “AF502” on Foxtel Go is an infrequent error, and if you’re seeing it, perhaps the problem is due to an outdated application build.
If you haven’t used your device in a while, the Foxtel Go app might have skipped essential firmware upgrades, so updating your app is recommended.

- Enter the Google Play Store on your mobile.

- Select the “Manage apps & devices” tile.
- Tap “Manage” and find the Foxtel Go app.
- Select the “Uninstall” button to remove it.
- Use the magnifying glass to find the app.
- Tap on the “Install” button to get Foxtel Go.
Foxtel Go App Reinstallation – iOS:
- Locate the Foxtel Go app from the home screen.
- Tap and hold the app’s icon to reveal the options.
- Select “Remove this App” to uninstall your app.
- Open the App Store and find the Foxtel Go app.
- Tap on the “Cloud+Arrow” button to re-download.
