How to Fix Eero Your Device Has Been Paused?

1. Manually Unpause Your Device
If you see the message “Your Device has been Paused,” it means that someone has manually paused the internet access for that particular device using the Eero app.
To resolve this, one obvious and simple fix is to unpause the device to restore internet access manually, which will resolve your problem immediately.
Here is how to manually unpause the Eero device:
- Launch the Eero app on the phone.
- Tap the Menu icon from the top left.
- Select Family Profiles from the list.
- Locate the device that is “Paused.”
- Press on the blue “Resume” button.
Info: Your device will unpause and have access to the internet again, and if you can't find the "Resume/Play" button in the app, your device is not paused.
2. Check “Pause” on Other Devices
We highly recommend you verify if other devices on your eero network are also experiencing the same issue.
This simple approach can help isolate the problem and identify whether the problem is specific to one device or a broader network issue.
If other devices are also paused, this indicates a broader network problem like congestion, outages, or maintenance work.
In such cases, you can do nothing instead of waiting for the problem to be addressed by a technician later the same day.

3. Check for Any Scheduled Pause
Scheduled pauses are a common feature of parental controls in Eero’s Family Profiles.
These pauses automatically restrict internet access for specific devices or groups of devices during configured times, often for bedtime, study hours, or other designated periods.

- Open the Eero app and tap on the menu.
- Press on “Family Profiles” from the list.
- Select the Family Profile for the device.
- Tap on the device that has been paused.
- Look for the “Scheduled Pauses” pane.
If you find a scheduled pause for your device, tap on the scheduled time and remove it.
You can also remove your device from this profile by scrolling to the bottom and tapping Remove From Profile.

Note: You can disable the QoS for your eero router from the eero app!
6. Update Your eero’s Firmware

To update the firmware of the Eero device:
- Launch the Eero app on your phone.
- On the top left, tap on the menu icon.
