Try wireless charging:
- Connect your charger to power if you have an iPhone 8 or later.
- Place the charger on a level surface.
- Place your phone on top with the display facing up.

Note: Wireless charging is still relatively slow compared to when you plug in your phone. We don’t recommend it unless it’s the only option left.

Some devices even have supercharging, which speeds up the process.
Here are a few tips about charging with your original charger to keep your phone’s battery healthy:
- Do not wait until your phone is dead to recharge it.
- Do not wait for your phone to be at 10%.
- Plugin your phone when it’s between 40 and 60%.
Note: Charging your phone when it is already dead makes the battery work harder and reduces its life expectancy.
Another common cause of charging issues is dirty, clogged ports and connectors.
Dirt and debris can build up inside the ports and prevent the contacts from engaging properly.
There might be nothing wrong with your charger and port, but if dirt and dust are thick enough, it can prevent an efficient charge.

- Power OFF your phone.

- The device will switch to Safe Mode.
Note: You’ll know your phone is already in Safe Mode when you see Safe Mode on the bottom left of your screen.
Another reason your phone is not charging is outdated software. Software updates are regularly released to solve a wide range of device service problems.
If your phone still has power, follow these steps:
- Open Settings > Software Update.
- Your device will check for available updates.
- If an update is available, tap Download and Install.
Note: If no updates are available, you will see “Your device is up to date.”
