Method 1: Using the Downloader App
The downloader method allows you to install more than one Kodi build on your Firestick or any other device you wish.
Even if you do not have any other build on Kodi, you can use it.
Let us see how you can install, for instance, Kodi Build 19 and Kodi build 18.9.
You will first need to download, then install the downloader app:
- Go to your Firestick and search for the ‘downloader app.’
- Once you find it, click the download and install button but do not open the app.
- Click the Home button on your device’s remote, then go to settings and select the ‘my fire TV’ page.
- Navigate to ‘install unknown apps’ and tap on the downloader app to turn it on.
- Click the home button again, then click the three dots on the settings section to see all apps you have installed.
Select ‘downloader app’ then press the OK button on your remote for three seconds.
Place the app above other apps using the arrow buttons followed by OK on your remote.
You can now access the app with ease any time you want to use it. Now open it, then click the option ‘Allow.’ A search box will appear where you can type a URL.
We now have the downloader app. Let us see how we can install each Kodi build.
Install the First Build (Kodi 19)
This step involves downloading the main app. We will use these simple guidelines.
- Type the words ‘troypoint.com/kodistable’ on the search box on the downloader app, then press ‘go.’
- Your device will instantly download the latest version of the Kodi app. Kindly click the option ‘install.’
- Do not open the app but select ‘Done.’
- Click ‘delete’ on the popup window. We are deleting the app because we do not need it.
- Click delete once more so that the popup window disappears.
Install the Second Build (Kodi 18.9)
Install the second Kodi build using the steps below. The only difference is the URL.
Step #1: Type the URL
Open the downloader app on your device, then type the words ‘troypoint.com/k189fork’. Click the Go button to proceed.
Step #2: Install the Kodi Build
A popup screen will show up asking you if you want to install the Kodi build or not.
Kindly select the‘ install’ option on the bottom of the screen, then click ‘Done.’
Step #3: Delete the Kodi App
Select ‘delete’ on the screen to delete this second Kodi build file from your device. Confirm that you want to delete by clicking delete again.
Step #4: Go Back to Home Screen
Since we are not using the downloader app again, go back to the home screen by pressing the back button continuously.
Using the arrow buttons, place the new Kodi build (app) above other apps, then press ok on your remote.
Step #5: Launch the Apps
You are now through with the installation of two Kodi builds. You can now launch each of them on your Firestick to check if they work.
So long as you follow each step correctly, they should work on your device.
Method 2: Use AdbLink
AdbLink can run on desktop software such as Windows, Linux, and Mac. To use it on your Fire TV, you need a Wi-Fi connection, a mouse, and a keyboard to control the Kodi.
Once you configure it on your device, you can use it to install other Kodi builds or sideload apps. See below how you can do it.
Step #1: Get the IP Address Of Your Device
On the Fire TV Stick go to ‘settings,’ then click ‘About’ followed by ‘Network,’ then write the IP address of your device.
Go to the AdbLink main website on your PC, then download the program that fits your operating system.
Step #2: Run the AdbLink
Install the AdbLink, then you will find the ‘devices box’ on the adbLink; click ‘new’ on it to add your fire TV stick.
A window will pop up requiring you to provide the IP address and other information regarding your Fire TV stick.
Step #3: Download the Builds
Go to your PC, then download your preferred Kodi builds. They should be apk files. Other versions may fail to work. Then, tap the button, ‘install apk.’
Step #4: Launch the App
You can now search for the file you had earlier downloaded, then click ‘ok.’
The good thing is that AdbLink automatically installs the apps you download on your device.
Step #5: Check the builds
You can now freely install the number of builds you wish. Once you are through, go to the main menu of your device, then launch them to see that they are working.
Method 3: Use DroidAdmin
You can use the DroidAdmin service to install customized and downloaded files on your PC on any other device so long as they are android-powered.
First, you will need to install DroidAdmin from the AppStore on your device, such as the Fire TV stick. Next is setting up DroidAdmin by using the steps below.
Step #1. Set an Account
Use your browser to search for the DroidAdmin website. Click on the link ‘create code’ at the top, then provide your email and password to create an account.
Click the option ‘create new configuration’ below the screen.
Step #2. Name the File
Provide the file name you need to upload on the boxes that appear on the screen. Provide description also and save.
Once taken to the dashboard, you will see your configuration name on the blue window; you will need to tap on the ‘create files.’
Step #3. Add Content
Provide the description and the Kodi builds you would wish to add to the boxes. Enter the download link for the build file.
It would be best to add links directing you to the build to enable quick downloading of the file once you click on the link.
Click the option ‘save,’ and you will have added the build to the list.
Step #4. Add Many Builds
Repeat the steps we have provided above to add as many builds as you wish to DroidAdmin configuration.
Step #5. Install the Builds
Check the configuration you created and note down the code (eight digits).
Launch DroidAdmin on your Firestick and copy that code on the provided box. You will then be directed to the previous files you had added.
Choose the Kodi build you would wish to add, then click Ok on your remote to start downloading each.
Once a download is complete, DropDown launches the installer.
When all the builds finish downloading, you can freely choose and add the ones you’d like to use. Exit to the main menu, and now your Kodi builds will be ready for use.
