How to Download From ITV Hub?
Now that you know all about the downloading process on ITV Hub, here is a step-by-step guide for how you can download for favourite TV shows and episodes:
Step #1: Check Your Connection and Account Status
Before you begin downloading, make sure that your device is connected to WiFi. Then, ensure that you have logged into the account with which you subscribed to ITV Hub.
Note that the downloading feature is only available if you have a subscription to ITV Hub. A subscription allows you to watch TV programs on multiple devices without ads, including your TV player, desktop, and iOS devices.
Moreover, you need to be using iOS 10 or above to download content from ITV Hub. Other devices do not allow downloading via ITV Hub as of now.
Step #2: Go to The Title You Want To Download
Next, go to the program page for the TV series that you wish to download.
Here, you will be able to see whether that particular title is available for offline viewing. Moreover, you will also see how long it is available to stream and download on ITV Hub.
Most content on ITV Hub is available for offline viewing. However, there are a few exceptions. Keep reading to know more about why certain programs may not be available for downloading and offline viewing.
Step #3: Click On The “Download” Option
If the title you wish to download is available, you will find a “Download” option beneath each episode. This will begin the downloading process immediately.
Note that you can download up to 3 series on ITV Hub at once. If you choose to download more content, it will go to the downloading queue and automatically begin after the previous items are finished.
Step #4: Find Your Downloaded Content
After downloading the TV series and episodes that you want to view later, you can find them in one place for easy access. Here is how you can do so:
- First, tap the Settings icon on the top right corner of your ITV Hub app.
- Choose the Downloads option to view all your downloads in one place.
Or, you can simply choose the My ITV section on your TV screen, which will take you to the selection of programs that you have downloaded so far.
If some titles are missing from your My ITV or Downloads, they might have been removed from the ITV Hub collection. So, you can no longer view them offline.
Additionally, some titles are only available for offline viewing for a limited time, ranging from a few days to one week. If this is the case, you will need to repeat the above process and download them again.
Still Facing An Issue Downloading From ITV?
There can be a few reasons why you might be unable to download a particular TV series or episodes from ITV Hub. Here are the possible causes and how you can fix them:
Not All Content Is Available For Offline Viewing
ITV Hub has an extensive collection of TV series, news, sports, etc., that you can stream and download on other devices for offline viewing.
However, some content may not be available for download. This includes certain US shows like Family Guy that cannot be watched offline due to licensing issues.
On the other hand, certain shows are only available for offline viewing for seven days or less. Like mentioned before, you will need to download the title again after it expires.
Your Device May Not Have Enough Storage
Although there is no limit for how many TV series and episodes you can download from ITV Hub, there is only so much data that you can store on your device.
If this is the case, you will receive an error message stating that there is not enough storage on your device. To continue downloading more content, you will need to free up some space on your device.
Once your device has enough storage, you can get back to downloading as many series as you like and watching them whenever you want!
The Content May Be Expiring Soon
Most TV series are usually available on ITV Hub for 30 days. However, if the particular series you want to download is expiring soon, you may not be able to do so.
To check how many days a certain series will be available, go to the program’s page on ITV Hub. You will see the number of days left before expiry.
If a specific show has less than seven days left before it expires from ITV Hub, you will not be able to download it.
Additionally, previously downloaded content will become unavailable from offline viewing if removed from the ITV Hub library.
Your Device May Not Be Updated
Note that the downloading feature for ITV Hub is only available for iPhones and iPads using iOS 10 or above. Other devices do not yet allow offline viewing via ITV Hub.
So, if you are using an iPhone or iPad and are still unable to see the option for downloading content, make sure that your device is updated.
There Might Be Technical Issues
If you still cannot download content from ITV Hub after fixing the issues mentioned above, there are a few technical issues that may be causing the problem:
Your device’s WiFi connection may not be strong enough to handle the download. Make sure that your device is connected and try the downloading process again.
Even if you have enough storage space, your device may be too slow to process the download. So instead, try making some space for the content to download.
