To fix your Asus router not responding to login, you’ll want to make sure your connections are secure and correct. Check your network settings on your computer and set it to obtain its IP address automatically so it can communicate with your router.

Before we dive deeper into the actual fixes, let’s first look at the different causes, then we can move on to attempt the solutions.

Causes of Asus Router Login Window Not Responding

The problem with your Asus router login not working usually comes from several known sources.

We recommend looking at your network connections and making sure they’re in the right ports.

Your router and adapter’s software also matter as inconsistencies between them can happen.

Here are the possible issues that you’re likely to face if you’re unable to login into your router:

1. Wrong Connections

Your device needs to connect to your router to access it. If there’s a problem with the connections, you won’t be able to log in using your computer, laptop, or even your phone,

2. Outdated Network Adapter Drivers

Network adapters need drivers so they work properly. They can malfunction and lose connection with your router if they’re not updated.

3. No IP Address is Set for the Device

Routers hand out IP addresses to different devices on your network. If your computer does not get it automatically, it won’t connect to your router.

1. Make sure your modem is connected to the WAN port.
2. Remove the cable connector from your router’s ports.
3. Plug them back in securely.
4. Check for signs of damage on your ethernet cables.

Tip: You’ll know that your cables are plugged in correctly since you’ll hear an audible click.

Solution #4: Set Your Adapter to Obtain IP Address Automatically

Your computer or laptop needs to connect to your router so you can gain access to its login page.

There’s usually no problem with it, especially if you’ve left the settings as it is. However, there are instances when you need to change it.

Your network adapter should be set to obtain an IP address automatically. There’s a configuration that will change it manually, and this is where it can start to cause problems.

In this case, automatic is the way to go as your router will be able to assign unique IP addresses for different devices.

Here’s how to set your adapter to get its IP address automatically:

1. Click on the Start button, then Settings.
2. Select Network & Internet.
3. Choose the network you’re currently on.
4. Navigate to IP assignment, then click on Edit.
5. Choose Automatic (DHCP).

Note: We recommend setting it to automatic to avoid any further issues with your network.

Solution #5: Disable Proxy Server on Your Browser

Enabling your browser to use a proxy server will allow it to bypass its current connections.

This means that it won’t be able to see your router causing you to not be able to log in to its admin dashboard.

Changing your router settings at this point is going to be impossible until you disable the server and restore your connections.

The proxy settings on your browser are disabled by default. There are certain circumstances when you need to enable it and you might have forgotten to disable it.

Here’s how to disable your browser’s proxy settings:

1. Open your browser’s Settings menu.
2. Select Show advanced settings.
3. Click on Change proxy settings.
4. Go to LAN settings.
5. Under Proxy server, untick the box, then click OK.

Note: You’ll only need to do this on the browser that you’re going to use to access your router.
