How to Fix TELUS WiFi Booster – Best Solutions!
After a brief review of what could go wrong with your TELUS WiFi Booster, it’s time to start the solution guide.
We’ve prepared the best- working methods that will help you resume the functionality of the TELUS Booster and even strengthen its Wi-Fi coverage!
Let’s jump in!
Solution #1 Power Cycle the TELUS Booster
The first and by far the easiest solution is to perform a Power Cycle on the problematic TELUS Booster.
There’s a great chance that the booster had issues powering up its hardware, it’s going through contact reboots or the power source withdrawal is not reliable.
Let’s learn how to power cycle the TELUS WiFi Booster in easy steps:
- Unplug the Telus WiFi Booster from the Power Outlet.
- Disconnect the other end of the power cable from off the booster.
- Place the adapter away for 5 Minutes.
- Once the 5 minutes have elapsed, plug the adapter into the wall outlet.
- Connect the cable’s other end to the power port on your Telus Booster.
- Wait for the booster to turn on.
In order to gain the most benefits from the power cycle, you should keep the booster disconnected for at least 5 minutes. Any less time may not completely discharge the Telus WiFi Booster.
Note: The WiFi Booster’s LED must immediately light up in purple once it’s reconnected.
Solution #2 Reconnect the Booster’s Ethernet
Perhaps, there’s an issue with the Ethernet Cable Connection in your setup!
It really matters whether you’re using a new Ethernet cable, or you’ve gotten an old one to hook up your WiFi Booster.
It’s likely for Ethernet cables to start experiencing outages in the long run, once used for a longer period of time. We should first attempt to reconnect the cable!
- Unplug the Ethernet cable from your booster and network device and then wait
Wait for a few moments and then re-install the Ethernet cable into the entry ports on your WiFi booster and network device.
It’s important to check whether the cable is blinking upon being connected since this is the primary indication of a working data packet transfer.
Alert: If the booster fails to connect, replace the Ethernet cable and test the connection then!
Solution #3 Re-Add the Booster to the TELUS App
The TELUS WiFi Booster must exist within your TELUS Mobile app, in order to connect with your phone.
Once unpaired, the booster will temporarily stop working and so will the mesh network become offline until this problem is resolved.
In that regard, your next step should be to Re-add the Booster in the TELUS App in order to bring the Mesh Network of the device back online.
Here’s how to re-add the device:
- Open the TELUS App on your mobile device.
- Navigate to “Devices”.
- Select your TELUS WiFi Booster from the list (only if it is there).
- (Optional) Press “Remove Device” in order to uninstall the booster.
- Select “Add Device” at the top of the tab.
- Choose the Device Type you wish to add to TELUS.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Once the device type is selected, the TELUS App will guide you through the essential setup steps, in order to add the new profile of your TELUS WiFi Booster.
Alert: Keep in mind that re-adding the booster will erase the setting configuration you’ve made!
Solution #4 Restart your Network Device (Router)
Chances are that your Network Device has run into a fault…
Since the Mesh network of your TELUS WiFi Booster is dependent on the network device, if the modem goes offline, so will your booster.
The next thing you could do is perform a Restart on the Network Device as you unplug it as well, in order to achieve discharge.
- Disconnect the power adapter of your router from the source for 5 minutes!
Make sure to wait the full duration of 5 minutes, before reconnecting the power cable of your Network Device to the electrical outlet.
During that time, your router will discharge, cool down and refresh ALL services, the same way that your TELUS WiFi Booster did.
Note: Once the modem seems cold on touch or 5 minutes have elapsed, reconnect its cord.
Solution #5 Reinstall the TELUS Mobile App
Since the TELUS Mobile App is what makes the connection between your mobile device, booster and router, a fault with the platform could result in this type of problem.
Alert: Reinstalling the TELUS Mobile App will delete all added devices and settings!
However, Reinstalling the TELUS App might settle things with the issues your Telus Booster is going through and bring the Mesh Network back online.
Here’s how to reinstall the app:
- Head into your Device Settings.
- Navigate to Storage.
- Find the Telus App in the “Apps” section.
- Select the app and Uninstall it.
- Once the Telus App is removed, re-acquire the platform from the App Store.
- Launch the app and sign back into your profile.
- Re-add the Telus WiFi Booster.
- Test…
Same as before, once the TELUS WiFi Booster has been added to the app, its LED should turn in bright purple, to indicate the successful pairing. Then you can test your Telus WiFi Booster.
Note: As download, the Telus App, select the latest version to be applied to your phone.
Solution #6 Reset the TELUS WiFi Booster
A solution that will most certainly help your Telus WiFi Booster is the Factory Reset.
Designed by the merchants, this feature will allow your WiFi Booster software to revert to factory default, not leaving a trace of your usage over the device.
This is especially helpful, if you had an inappropriate setting turned on on the booster and now you want it disabled/erased.
- To reset the Telus WiFi Booster, hold the Reset Button for 10 seconds!
The reset button is located on the back of the device and once done holding it, your Telus WiFi Booster will shut off and begin the factory reset.
You must make sure that the device is left unbothered for the full reset’s being or otherwise, the process might be interrupted.
Alert: Disconnecting your Telus Booster from the outlet will as well cancel the reset.
