Sky Glass HDMI Not Working – 6 Proven Solutions!

1. Select the Correct HDMI Source
For all one knows, the incorrect HDMI input could have been selected in the Sky Glass’s menu if the third-party device is connected to “HDMI 1”.
So, if you’ve accidentally selected “HDMI 2” or “HDMI 3”, the broadcast of the device will not be displayed on the TV screen, due to an empty port.
Here’s how to access the input menu of the Sky Glass and select the correct source:
- Scroll down to the Homescreen of the Sky Glass device.
- Highlight the “Apps and Input” section from the panel.
- Press “OK” to access the Source menu of the Sky Glass.
- Find in which HDMI port is the third-party unit plugged in.
- Highlight the corresponding source of the external device.
- Press “OK” on the remote control to lock in your selection.
- Check if the external device’s broadcast will now appear.
- Test on the other HDMI port that hasn’t been used until now.
Note: Unplug other external devices and test the Sky Glass TV with a single HDMI connection to prevent HDMI conflicts.
2. Soft-Reset the Sky Glass & Source!
The soft reset is the best option for tackling Sky Glass’s temporal issues and bugs.
This method will not erase any content or data from the TV but only discharge the hardware and the power supply, resulting in a system refresh and a clean startup the next time your Sky Glass turns on.

- Press the “power” button on the Sky Glass remote.
- Once the TV shuts down, unplug it from the power.
- Wait for 60 seconds while the Glass is unplugged.
- Then, reconnect the power cable to the wall outlet.

3. Test on a Different HDMI Port

To test the HDMI ports of the Sky Glass, you must connect the third-party device to all three HDMI ports and change to each of the sources in the inputs menu.
Follow these steps to test the HDMI ports on the Sky Glass TV:
- Unplug the third-party device’s HDMI cable from the Sky Glass.
- Inspect the two remaining HDMI ports that haven’t been tested.
- Connect the external device to the first of the two untested ports.
- Navigate into the Sky Glass’ source menu and select the input.

If there are any rips, cuts, damages, or bents on the HDMI cable, it is likely that the wire is interrupted and is no longer functioning correctly.
Here are the most usual signs of a defective HDMI cable:
- Repeated losses in the audio/video transfer.
- Constant “desync” of the audio and video.
- Flickering of the display or distorted audio.
Also, ensure a 2.0 HDMI is connected with the Sky Glass to achieve the best compatibility between the TV and the connecting device.
In addition, check if the HDMI port on the back of the Sky Glass or the connecting device is damaged.

5. Unplug Other Third-Party Devices

6. Factory Reset the Sky Glass TV
Conducting a factory reset on the Sky Glass is recommended to verify that the HDMI problem is unrelated to the software.
Unlike the power cycle, a factory reset will erase all content, data and settings on your Sky Glass TV, including apps, user settings, and other installed media.
The data loss after a factory reset is irreversible!
Here’s how to perform a factory reset on a Sky Glass TV device:
- Navigate to the “Settings” of the Sky Glass device.
- Highlight “System Management” and press “OK.”
- Then, navigate to the “Resets & Updates” section.
- From there, find “Factory Reset” and press “OK.”
- Then, follow the on-screen instructions to reset.
Once the factory reset starts, you cannot interact with the Sky Glass for 3-5 minutes until the process is complete.
Once the initialisation is complete, you will be back at the first-time setup screen of the Sky Glass and must establish the settings configuration from scratch.
Note: Do not unplug or power off the Sky Glass during the factory reset!
