Once you complete the Velop initial setup process via the Linksys mobile app, the purple light on your Velop node will automatically change to a solid blue light.
This will signify that the node is now online on your mesh Wi-Fi network.
However, sometimes, the purple light won’t go away, which means the setup has failed.

How to Set Up Velop Correctly?
If you have no idea how to set up your Velop node to solve the purple LED light, then there is no need to worry.

- Open the Linksys mobile app and press the “Setup” button.
- Turn on the “Bluetooth” on your phone and accept the TOS.
- The app will look for the node, and once found, press “Next.”
- Next, enter your “Email” and “Password” to set up a Cloud ID.
- Then, change the Linksys WiFi network “SSID” and “Password.”

If you’ve recently added your Velop node to your mesh Wi-Fi network, but the solid purple light is constantly there on the node, there could be something wrong with the Velop itself.
Thus, the problem could be related to anything, whether it is related to the software, so let’s troubleshoot!
1. Wait for Setup Completion
If you have just added your Velop node to your network and it is blinking purple, don’t worry and patiently wait for some time for the initial setup to complete.
Sometimes, the initialization may take a few minutes, depending on your network speed and the number of nodes you’re adding.
In addition, it’s normal for the node to display a solid purple light, especially when the Velop node firmware update process is ongoing.
- So, avoid interrupting the setup process by unplugging the node and patiently waiting 10 to 15 minutes for the devices to do their work.
Note: If the purple light remains there for over 15 minutes, continue with the next solution!
2. Check the Power Connection
Remember that all the Linksys Nodes require a constant power source to work correctly and connect with each node.
Thus, check and ensure that both the power cable on the Velop node and the power adapter on the wall outlet are securely plugged in.

The setup works by connecting your Parent Node with the network router and then connecting your Child Nodes to the main node again via an Ethernet.
