How To Fix iD Mobile Login Problems In Minutes!
In order to solve the problem we’re going to start troubleshooting chronologically.
This is the only way to discover where the problem is coming from so make sure not to skip anything!
Let’s start with the most important first!
Solution #1 Activate iD SIM Card
Upon subscribing to iD Mobile, when you receive your SIM card, it should already be activated.
In case you’re too quick, you might need to wait several hours until the SIM card has been activated so you can connect to the mobile network.
To be able to sign in to the iD Mobile application, you would need to have the SIM card inserted into your mobile device and be activated.
In case you’re not receiving the PIN code prompt upon inserting the SIM card, it means that it’s not yet ready for use!
Note: The iD Mobile default SIM PIN code is either “0000” or “1234”.
Solution #2 Register an iD Account
It’s easy to assume that we need an iD Mobile account before we can actually sign in.
Registration is easy as long as the SIM card has been inserted into your device and activated.
Here’s how to register for iD Mobile in easy steps!
- Go to the Official iD Mobile UK.
- Navigate to the iD Account Page.
- Tap on Register.
- Provide your Email & Phone Number.
- A Security Code will be sent to your iD Mobile Phone.
- Use the Security Code to submit your Username/Password.
- Don’t share your Sign-in credentials with anyone!
When you’re now registered, you can download the ID Mobile application from the App Store or Google Play and sign in.
In case the form returns a “wrong login info” message, don’t worry we can easily recover your sign-in credentials. Let’s learn how to do this in the next solution!
Solution #3 Reset iD Mobile Credentials
When you already created an iD Mobile account, but you’re still unable to sign in to the app, due to an error, we’ve got you covered.
In this solution, we’ll learn how to reset the iD Mobile sign-in credentials to be able to log into the iD Mobile app.
Reset iD Mobile Password:
- Go to the sign-in page of the My Account online or iD App.
- Tap on Forgotten Passwords.
- Insert your Username & Email.
- Tap on Submit.
- Take the Verification Code from the SMS.
- Enter a New Password.
Reset iD Mobile Username:
- Open the iD App or My Account on the website.
- Tap on Forgotten Username/Email Address.
- From there insert the Number, Owner’s Name, and Date of Birth.
- Use the 8-digit verification code to reset your credentials.
In case you didn’t know you can also set a PIN code or fingerprint login to sign into the app without typing your credentials.
However, these methods can always glitch out so you would need to disable the fingerprint sensor of your device or remove the PIN code to sign in.
Tip: If you have no access to the registered email address, contact iD Mobile Support!
Solution #4 Reinsert iD SIM Card
Before continuing any further it’s extremely important to justify that your SIM card is being recognized by your iD Mobile device.
When the iD Mobile SIM card is activated, you should be seeing the cellular strength on the top of your mobile device’s screen.
In case your iD Mobile SIM card is not recognized by the device you’ve probably not inserted the PIN code.
If that’s the case, then you need to reinsert the SIM card. It’s important to make sure that the card is the correct size and it’s inserted the correct way into the SIM tray.
Note: After the iD Mobile SIM card has been re-inserted, you’ll need to insert the PIN code!
Solution #5 Turn OFF the WiFi
In order to be able to sign in to the iD Mobile through the app or website, you’ll need to have your cellular data enabled and the WiFi turned OFF.
When the WiFi is enabled, your device will automatically connect to the home network and prevent your access to the ID mobile!
- Simply, toggle OFF the WiFi feature on your iD Mobile device!
In addition, go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile Data and make sure that it’s enabled. You should see your 4G network available and then you’ll be able to sign in.
In case the login issues are still there, make sure to restart the application after the WiFi has been toggled OFF.
Tip: You don’t need to use your mobile data when accessing your account through the official iD Mobile website.
Solution #6 Reinstall the ID Mobile App
In case nothing helps and you’re still unable to sign into the iD Mobile account, then it’s time to perform a clean application installation.
For this method to work you’ll need to Uninstall the app from your device which will also erase the cache data containing wrong sign-in credentials.
Here is how to cleanly Uninstall > Install the iD Mobile application:
- Go to Settings on your iD Mobile device.
- From there navigate to the Apps/Storage section.
- Select the iD Mobile application > Uninstall.
- Based on your OS, open the Google Play or App Store.
- Search for “iD Mobile” and download the application.
- Open the app and sign in using the correct credentials.
Now that the iD Mobile application is cleanly installed, make sure to remove any fingerprint login or PIN code, and sign in by inserting your credentials.
In case you’re still unable to sign in make sure to remember what the error says and proceed further.
Solution #7 Use an Approved Handsets
It really does matter whether you’re using a supported handset (device) and in case you’re still not able to sign in you need to test on another one.
The majority of smartphone brands are supported by iD Mobile but you still need to check whether yours is included in the list.
- Simply go to iD Mobile Approved Handsets and find your device!
If you’re unable to discover your device there, then eject the iD Mobile SIM Card and test the functionality into a different handset.
In case the sign-in fails on the secondary device as well, perhaps there is something wrong on the iD Mobile’s side. Let’s find out!
Is There an iD Mobile Service Outage?
In case you’ve attempted everything in this guide but you’re still unable to sign in, perhaps iD Mobile is currently experiencing downtime.
What this means is that certain cities throughout the UK might not currently have service.
- Luckily, you can easily check for iD Mobile Service Outages!
You only need to click on “Check Coverage In Your Area” and insert your postcode and broadband (3G, 4G or 5G).
From there you’ll be notified if the services are currently down!
