Configure Android APN Settings Manually

1. Go to your Settings
2. Select Mobile Data
3. Tap on Access Point Names
4. Tap on Add APN

Fill APN fields with the following data

• Name: Freedom Mobile
• APN: internet.freedommobile.ca
• Multimedia message port: (Not Set)
• MNC: 490
• MCC: 302
• Authentication type: (none)
• APN type: (default,supl)
• APN protocol: (IPv4)
• Mobile virtual network operator: (none )

Note: For any field that is not included here simply leave it blank.

Solution #3 Use SMS Messaging Instead of Online Messaging

The other issue that causes failed messaging is using online messaging services. Almost all messaging applications today have an option for sending messages via the internet. 

This option could affect your messages if you have no access to the internet.

The solution is to use SMS only depending on the application you are using. For iPhone users, iMessenger is the most common application while Samsung Messages leads on android.

To change messaging to SMS only on iPhone

1. Go to Settings 
2. Select Messaging
3. Select iMessenger or your Messaging App
4. Toggle SMS Messaging on/off

While some people have the FreedomPop messaging application on their phones, few use it. 

The first thing you should do is make your FreedomPop the primary messaging app.

How to set FreedomPop as the primary messaging app

1. Search and download the FreedomPop app from Google or Apple store.
2. Open the application for the first time
3. You will receive a prompt to set FreedomPop as the primary messaging app.
4. Select Yes or OK to proceed

Note: If you already have the FreedomPop application on your phone, you may still set it as the primary messaging application. 

Set FreedomPop as the primary messaging app on Android

1. Tap on the FreedomPop application to open
2. Tap on the three dots in the top left corner
3. Scroll down and tap on Set as Default Messaging Application
4. Select OK to confirm

Set FreedomPop as the primary messaging application on iPhone

1. Go to Settings
2. Scroll down and Select FreedomPop
3. Tap on Make Default Messaging Application
4. Tap OK to finish setting up

Solution #5 Deregister iMessaging on Your Old iPhone

If you are an ex-iPhone user, the problem could be with your old device.

When you activate iMessenger as your primary messaging application, it takes control of your messages. 

In most cases, messages are received via the internet and not a SIM card. The same goes for sending messages.

To solve this problem, you must turn off iMessenger on your old device. This is if you have access to your old device. 

If you do not have access to your old device, you may have to log in to your apple online portal to resolve the problem.

How to deregister from iMessage
