Let’s continue to unwrap!
Can’t Send Message With Three Error 0 – Why?
The reason why you can’t send messages over the Three network is due to a problem with the service or an issue with your mobile.
To discover the culprit, you must first perform a quick test!
Test: Can You Call Anyone?
One of the first and most essential tests is whether you can call anyone from the Three network using your mobile.
This approach will help you determine whether only the text messages aren’t working on your mobile or you can’t access the Three cellular network.
If you can call but can’t text, then the problem is related to your Three mobile.
In contrast, if you can’t also call anyone, then your Three mobile is most likely disconnected from the network, or there is an ongoing Three service outage.
Check for Service Outages!
When you can’t call or send text messages on your Three mobile, then you must check whether the Three services are online in your area.
When there is an ongoing outage, your Three mobile will be offline, and you won’t be able to send/receive any calls or text messages.
- To check for ongoing Three outages, go to Three Status Checker!
When you land on the status checker page, insert your Postcode into the provided field below and press on the magnifying glass.
Then, you’ll be provided with information on whether the Three network is currently offline in your area.
Note: If there are no ongoing outages at the moment, you must troubleshoot!
How to Fix Error 0 Three in 6 Easy Steps?
Tip: Follow the steps chronologically!
1. Power Cycle the Three Mobile!
The first step is the easiest one. Sometimes, the Three network error “0” appears because of a system error with your Three mobile.
So, the power circulation will refresh the operating system and the networking services, giving you a fresh start on your Three mobile.
- To power cycle your Three mobile, shut down your phone for 60 seconds!
When you hold the power button and the power options appear, verify to select the “Power Off” or “Shutdown” option and not only reboot the device.
After about 1 minute, turn on your Three mobile and test whether you can send text messages over the cellular network.
Tip: Test sending messages to multiple different receivers to verify the issue!
2. Correct the Text Centre Number
An incorrect message centre number is one of the most common reasons for the error “0” on your Three mobile network.
The message centre number, also known as “SMSC,” is a way that most cellular operators use for your messages to get received, sent, redirected, or forwarded.
When the SMSC is incorrectly set on your mobile, you’ll be unable to send messages, and you’ll see the error “0” every time you attempt to do so.
Luckily, you can correct the message centre number on both Android and iOS mobile devices, so let’s learn how it’s done…
How to Set Up Three SMSC on Android?
- From the home screen, go to the Applications.
- Then, select the “Phone” app from the section.
- Next, type and dial “*#*#4636#*#*” (no brackets).
- When the tab appears, tap “Phone Information.”
- Next, scroll down and select the “SMSC” option.
- Insert the correct Three SMSC – +353868002000
How to Set Up Three SMSC on Apple?
On Apple devices, the only way to correct the message centre number is to update the carrier settings through Settings > General > About.
When you enter the About tab, you should be prompted to update the carrier settings, so press “Update” to correct the message number.
Note: If you don’t receive an update prompt on your Apple device, reset the network settings!
3. Reseat Your Three SIM Card
Another possibility for Three error 0 on your Three mobile is the physical SIM card inserted into your device.
When the SIM card is not recognised, your device will be disconnected from the Three network, and you will not be able to send messages or make calls.
- To reseat the SIM card, you must acquire a SIM ejector tool, which can be any sharp object such as a needle, toothpick, or paperclip.
- To eject the SIM tray, you must reach inside the tray pinhole and apply force inwards to pop out the cardholder and gently eject the SIM card.
To verify that the SIM chip is going to be recognised by your Three mobile, you just clean dust accumulation from the card and from the tray.
In addition, use the cut SIM corner for orientation on how to insert the card correctly into the tray and prevent possible issues.
Note: When you insert the SIM, you must fill in the Three PIN code, which is “0000” by default.
4. Optimise Your Three Reception
Sometimes, you cannot send text messages over the Three carrier network due to signal issues on the Three mobile.
When there is no reception or the coverage is very weak, your messages and calls might not get sent through, and you will most likely see the error “0” as an indication.
Here are a few tips to optimise your Three carrier reception:
How to Check My Reception?
To determine how strong your Three-carrier network is, look at the indicator on the top right or left of your Three-mobile screen.
The cellular indicator shows N/4 bars, so your messages and calls may not work correctly if you only see 2 or fewer bars of signal strength.
Note: Bad weather can also decrease the strength of your Three mobile cellular coverage!
5. Reinstall the Messaging App!
In many cases, error “0” on your Three mobile appears due to a problem with the Messaging app, which differs for iOS and Android phones.
For Android, the app is called “Messages,” and for iOS, the default app would be “iMessage.”
- To uninstall the messaging app on Android or iOS mobile, hold the icon and select “Remove App” or simply drag the icon to the trash bin.
When the messaging application is removed from your mobile, you can download the app again from Google Play or App Store for Android and iOS, respectively.
Once the messaging app is freshly installed on your device, attempt to send a message over your Three cellular networks.
Note: To download apps, your mobile must be connected to the internet.
6. Reset Your Network Settings!
The final and most important troubleshooting step against error “0” on Three Mobile is to reset the network settings in their entirety.
This means that you’ll lose the remembered WiFi networks, remembered Bluetooth sources, and cellular settings.
When the settings are reset, your Three mobile will acquire all networking setup configurations from the SIM card later, so only WiFi and Bluetooth settings must be re-setup.
How to Reset Network Settings on Android?
- Access the Quick Menu by swiping the app drawer.
- Go to the “Settings” app and tap on the “System” tile.
- From there, select “Reset Options” from the options.
- Lastly, press on “Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.”
- To confirm and begin the reset, tap “Reset Settings.”
How to Reset Network Settings on Apple?
- From the iOS home screen, go to the “Settings” app.
- Then, tap and enter the “General” tab from the top.
- Next, select the “Transfer or Reset [Device]” option.
- Then, confirm the reset by pressing on “Reset” again.
- Finally, press on “Reset Network Settings” to begin.
Note: The network reset on your mobile might take up to 5 minutes, so remain patient and wait until your Three mobile automatically restarts.
Quick Recap:
Hence, error 0 Three appears when you attempt to send a message, but the SMS cannot reach the destination.
To solve the fault, you must correct the SMS centre number, power cycle the Three mobile, reseat the SIM card, and reset the network settings if necessary.
