Why is My ALDI Data Not Working?
Many reasons may be responsible for the lack of internet access through the ALDI mobile data, and they involve everything from the SIM’s activation to your device.
So, before we jump into troubleshooting, we must check the possibilities and hopefully discover the true culprit early on.
Here’s everything that can impact and disable your ALDI mobile data:
Those are the reasons why ALDI mobile data is not working.
To learn how to address each of the possibilities accordingly, continue reading the easy-to-apply troubleshooting guide below!
How to Fix When ALDI Mobile Data Not Working?
Tip: Follow the steps chronologically!
1. Toggle Airplane Mode ON & OFF
The first and quickest solution against ALDI mobile data problems would be to turn ON and OFF the Airplane Mode on your mobile device.
The Airplane Mode will refresh the cellular connection with your mobile, restore the service to the ALDI SIM card and hopefully resolve your problems.
Airplane Mode on Android:
- Go to the Settings → Network & Internet → Airplane Mode → ON → OFF.
Airplane Mode on Apple:
- Swipe from the top → tap the Airplane Icon → tap the Airplane Icon again.
When you turn on Airplane Mode, all your ALDI mobile connections will temporarily disconnect, involving Wi-Fi, Cellular and Bluetooth.
So, turn the Airplane Mode back “OFF” for your phone to reconnect automatically and test your ALDI mobile data.
Note: You cannot use your device’s networking with Airplane Mode enabled!
2. Shutdown and Restart ALDI Mobile
Another straightforward step at the beginning of the troubleshooting is to perform a restart on your ALDI mobile.
However, we recommend taking this restart one step further and performing a power cycle, which can be achieved by shutting down the mobile and not only restarting it.
- To shut down your ALDI mobile, hold the Power button and select “Power Off.”
The shutdown works much better than a regular restart since the system turns off entirely and then boots up when you power on your mobile.
So, keep your ALDI mobile powered off for a few minutes, and in the meantime, proceed with the next step.
3. Reinsert the ALDI Mobile SIM Card
Your ALDI mobile data is not working due to the inserted SIM card and the connection with the device.
When your device does not recognise the SIM, you may face many issues involving the network connection, which, of course, impact the ALDI internet data.
The solution is to eject, clean and re-insert the ALDI SIM card into your mobile’s SIM tray and verify that the card is appropriately embedded.
Here’s how to inspect, clean and reinsert your ALDI SIM card:
- First, acquire a SIM ejector tool or a needle.
- Locate the SIM card holder (phone SIM tray).
- Reach within the pinhole and apply pressure.
- The SIM tray of the ALDI mobile will pop out.
- Gently remove the SIM card from your mobile.
- Use a clean cloth to wipe any smudge/debris.
- Verify that the SIM tray is also obstruction-free.
- Use the cut card corner to embed your SIM.
- Push the SIM tray securely within your mobile.
Note: When you re-insert the SIM, your phone will ask for a PIN code, which can be found on the documents that came with your wireless plan.
4. Correct Your ALDI Mobile APN
Sometimes, the ALDI services will not work on your mobile because of a misconfiguration or entirely missing ALDI APN settings.
This is why we’ve prepared a quick guide on accessing the APN (Access Point Name) tab on your Android or iOS mobile.
In addition, you’ll discover the correct ALDI APN settings below…
Accessing APN on Android:
- Settings → “Mobile Networks” → “Access Point Names” → “New APN”
Accessing APN on Apple:
- Settings → “Mobile Data” → “Mobile Data Options” → “APN”
When you find the APN settings on your ALDI mobile, configure them accordingly:
ALDImobile APN Settings Configuration | |
APN | “mdata.net.au” or “Telstra.internet” |
Name | “Mobile Data” |
Port | <blank> |
Proxy | <blank> |
Password | <blank> |
Username | <blank> |
Server | <blank> |
MMSC | “http://mmsc.mdata.net.au:8003” |
MMS port | “80” |
MMS proxy | “10.1.1.180” |
MMS Protocol | “IPv4” or “IPv4/IPv6” |
MNC | “01” |
MCC | “505” |
APN type | “default,dun,supl,mms” |
Authentication | <blank> |
When you’re ready with the APN configuration for the ALDI mobile network, Save your changes and exit the section.
In addition, we recommend rebooting your ALDI mobile and checking if the mobile data is working.
Note: If you see any other fields on your mobile’s APN settings, leave them blank!
5. Verify Your ALDI SIM is Activated
Before going further into the solutions, you must verify that the ALDI SIM card is activated.
Testing whether your ALDI SIM card is activated is straightforward since you simply need to call through your ALDI mobile.
If the call goes through, your ALDI networking services are activated, and the problem does not come from the SIM card.
However, if you identify that the calls are also not working, just like the mobile data, you must go to the ALDI Mobile SIM Activation.
On the activation page, you’ll be provided with the options, and based on your occasion, select “Activate my SIM” or “Activate my plan.”
Note: You will be guided through the activation of your ALDI mobile!
6. Check and Optimise Your Signal
Sometimes, the mobile data, not only on ALDI but with other network operators, is very slow or entirely missing due to a bad signal/reception.
You can see the strength of your ALDI network on the top-right or top-left of your mobile’s screen, where you’ll see the number of cellular bars.
Here’s what the cellular indicator is showing:
- No service – You’re disconnected from the network.
- E – Your mobile data is running at the lowest speed.
- 3G – Your mobile data is slow but entirely functional.
- 4G/5G – Your mobile data is working at full capacity.
In addition, you’ll see the cellular bars, which must be 4/4 when the connection is strong, but if you only see 1 or 2 bars, your signal is weak.
So, if you’re on vacation or in the mountains, it’s completely normal for the ALDI signal to be weak, directly impacting your internet mobile data.
Tip: Try moving outside or elevating your device to check if this will improve the signal strength!
7. Reset the Mobile Network Settings
If the ALDI services are activated, and you have cellular signal coverage, but the mobile data is not working, the problem is most likely related to your mobile.
One of the most efficient ways to solve cellular-related issues on the ALDI mobile is to reset the network settings configuration.
Warning: The network reset will erase your saved Wi-Fi SSIDs, passwords, Bluetooth connections, and APN settings.
How to Reset the Network Setup on Android?
- Enter the “Settings” app and go to “System.”
- Select the “Reset Options” tile from the list.
- Tap on “Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.”
- Finally, press on “Reset Settings” to begin.
How to Reset the Network Setup on Apple?
- Open “Settings” and enter “General.”
- Press on “Transfer or Reset [Device].”
- Tap “Reset” and “Reset Network Settings.”
When the network settings are reset, your mobile cannot reconnect with the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth devices automatically.
So, if you want to continue using external services, you must set up the connections from scratch.
Note: When the network reset is over, your ALDI mobile should automatically acquire all the necessary APN settings.
Quick Recap:
Hence, when ALDI mobile data not working, you must reboot the mobile, reinsert the SIM, and correct the APN settings configuration.
If this doesn’t help, you must verify that your SIM card is fully activated, and if yes, reset the network settings on the ALDI mobile unit.
