How to Fix Address Verification Failure Apple Pay?

1. Reboot Your Apple Device
If you’re seeing “address verification failure,” begin with something simple such as restart, just in case the problem is caused by a bug with the system.
To restart an Apple device, hold the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously for about 10 seconds.
When the power prompt appears, drag the “slide to power off” to the right side and wait until your mobile turns off.
Then, hold the Power button again to power the mobile.
When you’re ready, test whether the address verification error continues to appear!
2. Offload & Reload the Wallet
One of the reasons for the address verification failure is the Wallet app on the Apple device, but there is a quick and easy way to reset the application.
The so-called “Offload” feature on Apple devices removes the app from the software but keeps all the files, which means you won’t lose any settings.
Here’s how to offload and reload the Wallet application:
- From the main screen, go to “Settings.”
- Then, enter the General tab on the top.
- Go down and enter “[Device] Storage.”
- Scroll down to locate your “Wallet” app.
- Press on the app to enter the settings.
- Press on the blue “Offload App” button.
- Confirm by tapping “Offload App” again.
- After a minute or two, tap on “Load App.”
Reminder: All your information will be recovered, so check whether the address error appears!
3. Set Up Face ID & Passcode
If your Apple device doesn’t have a Face ID or Passcode set up, you won’t be able to utilize Apple Pay and may encounter an address verification error.
So, based on your Apple device’s model, go into Settings, scroll down, and enter the “Face ID & Passcode” or “Passcode” tab.
Note: If your device’s Face ID is non-functional, make sure to set up a Passcode!
4. Correct Your Apple Address
Perhaps the error rightfully indicates that your address is incorrect, so you’ll need to make the necessary adjustments to the settings of the Wallet app.
However, adjusting the address differs based on whether you’re using an iPhone, MacBook, or iMac, so follow the correct steps as per your equipment.
How to Correct Address on iPhone?
- Go to the “Settings” app from the home screen.
- Then, scroll down and tap “Wallet & Apple Pay.”
- Tap “Transaction Defaults” and then “Address.”
- Then, correct the provided address accordingly.
- Then, go back and select one of the added cards.
- Tap on the three dots in the corner of the screen.
- Tap the address tab and then adjust accordingly.
- Go back and select your Apple ID from the top.
- Then, tap on the “Payment & Shipping” section.
- Finally, adjust the provided address there as well.
How to Correct Address on Apple PC?
- Open the Music app and select “iTunes Store.”
- Go to the bottom, sign in, and locate “Address.”
- Then, adjust the provided address accordingly.
You must also adjust the address in your Apple ID account, and you can easily do this from your iPhone or your computer.
Important: Use the same information as your bank!
5. Remove & Re-add Your Card
If the Apple Pay information is correct but you still receive an Apple Pay address verification failure, you must remove and re-add the card from the Wallet app.
This is very easy and only takes a minute, so here are the steps:
- Open the Wallet application on your mobile.
- Tap on the “Previous Cards” tab from the top.
- Press on the “Edit” button and then on “Delete.”
- Confirm that you would like to delete the card.
- Then, go back and select “Add a New Card.”
When your Credit/Debit card has been re-added to the Wallet application, feel free to test doing a transaction to see whether the address failure is still there.

6. Check the Internet and Wi-Fi
The Apple Pay “address verification failure” could occur due to a slow internet or offline Apple device so you’ll need to inspect the internet access.
If you’re using Wi-Fi, we recommend checking whether this network is accessible by other units, and if not, switch to mobile data (4G, 5G).
If you have internet-related problems, power cycle the router, Forget and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.
Alert: Proceed only if your device has access to the internet!
7. Turn ON/OFF Airplane Mode
A swift and efficient solution against “address verification failure,” with Apple Pay is to refresh the networking services on your mobile.
This happens by enabling the Airplane Mode for a few minutes and then disabling the feature to prompt your device to reconnect with the networking.
- To enable Airplane Mode, slide down from the top and tap the Airplane icon!
We recommend keeping the Airplane Mode active for at least 60 seconds and then disabling the feature so your phone can reconnect.
When ready, test whether the address failure still appears.
Note: If you forget to turn off the Airplane Mode, your mobile will remain offline!
8. Sign-Out and In Your iCloud
It’s not excluded that the address verification failure comes from your Apple ID account bug, and even when the information is correct, the changes are not reflected.
This is why we recommend signing in and in your Apple ID and checking whether the address error will continue appearing.
Here’s how to sign out and in your iCloud (Apple ID) account:
- Unlock your Apple device and go to Settings.
- Tap on your Name ID located at the very top.
- Scroll down and tap on the “Sign Out” button.
- Insert your Apple ID password to continue.
- When you’re signed out, wait for 60 seconds.
- Insert your Apple ID login details to sign in.
When you’re signed back into your account, try performing a transaction to check whether the “address verification failure” is still there.
If yes, you would need additional troubleshooting.
9. Update the Mobile’s Firmware
If your Apple mobile or computer is on outdated software, your address may not get verified, and you’ll keep experiencing verification failures.
The quickest way to resolve such compatibility issues would be to update the firmware of your Apple mobile by using the provided steps below:
- First, connect your Apple device to a charger.
- Unlock your Apple device and go to Settings.
- Scroll down and tap on the “General” section.
- Next, select the “Software Update” tab on top.
- Verify your “Automatic Updates” are enabled.
- Tap on the blue “Download and Install” button.
Info: The update may take up to 10 minutes, and your device may restart multiple times!
10. Reset Apple Mobile to Default

One of the most efficient ways to deal with software issues is the factory reset process, which you should only apply as a last resort.
Here’s how to factory reset an Apple mobile in easy steps:
- From the main screen, go to the “Settings.”
- Go down and enter the “General” section.
- Then, select “Transfer or Reset [Device].”
- Press on “Erase All Content and Settings.”
- Confirm that you want to reset your device.
When your device is factory reset, you must either configure everything from scratch or restore everything from your iCloud backup.
If you don’t restore your data, you must add the Credit/Debit card back into the Wallet app and test if the address verification will pass through.
Warning: The factory reset will erase all device’s settings, data, and apps!
