Xfinity Rewards Not Working – Easy Steps to Fix This Error
You’ll know that you’re experiencing an issue with your Xfinity rewards access when you see an error message pop up as you’re redeeming them. You’ll also notice incorrect or outdated information about your rewards.
To fix your Xfinity rewards problem, follow these proven solutions:
#1: Use Your Primary Xfinity ID to Log in to Xfinity Rewards
If you’re having problems with how to redeem Xfinity rewards, you want to ensure that you’re logged in to your primary ID.
Your rewards are only available with your primary ID, so you need to switch back to it.
To use your primary ID to log in to Xfinity Rewards, follow these steps:
- Go to the Xfinity Rewards website.
- Click on the Sign In link.
- If you’re already logged in and can’t see your rewards, click Sign Out.
- Go to the Xfinity log in page.
- Enter your Xfinity username, email, or phone number.
- Ensure this is the primary one when you create the account.
- Type your password.
- Press the Sign In button to see if you can access your rewards.
Pro Tip: If you’re unsure what your primary ID is, go to the My Account tab and click the User Management link. Your ID is listed under Primary User.
#2: Power Cycle Your Router to Refresh Your Connection
There are also instances when your router experiences glitches or errors that affect your internet connection.
Whenever this happens, this will prevent you from accessing your rewards. Power cycling your router allows you to refresh your connection with the Xfinity Rewards servers.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Locate the Power button on the back of your Xfinity router.
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.
- Wait for your router to switch off.
- Unplug the router from the outlet.
- Wait for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Plug the router and turn it back on.
Note: Wait a few minutes for your router to connect to the internet and check if you’re able to access your rewards.
#3: Clear the Cache and Cookies on Your Browser

There are instances when your browser files get outdated or corrupted, interfering with your access to Xfinity Rewards.

- Choose Settings.

- Scroll down and click on Clear Browsing Data.

Mozilla Firefox
- Click the three-line menu in the top right.
- Go to Options.
- Choose Privacy and Security.
- Click on the Clear Data option.
- Select Cookies and Cached Web Content.

Safari
- Click the Safari menu in the top left.
- Select Preferences.
- Choose the Privacy tab.

Note: Clearing your browser cache and cookies also helps resolve problems with websites not loading correctly.
#4: Disable Ad Blockers or Extensions on your Web Browser
Other pieces of software that can disrupt in getting your access to your rewards are ad blockers and browser extensions.
These enhance your browser’s functionality but are also capable of interfering. You want to disable extensions on your browser and see if it resolves the issue.
Google Chrome
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right.
- Select the More Tools option.
- Choose Extensions.
- Find the ad blocker extension installed on your browser.
- Click on the toggle switch to turn it off.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click the three-line menu in the top right.
- Go to Add-ons and Themes.
- Select the Extensions tab.
- Find the ad blocker extension you want to disable.
- Click on the Disable button.
Note: If disabling your ad blocker does not do the trick, we recommend disabling each extension one by one and checking if it resolves the issue.
#5: Use a Private or Incognito Window

It’s a browser feature that won’t save history, cookies, or site data, so none of your corrupted settings are loaded.
Here’s how to use a private or incognito window to access your Xfinity Rewards:
- Open your browser and click the three-dot or three-line menu in the top right.
- If you’re on Chrome, select the New Incognito Window option.
- If you’re on Firefox, select New Private Window.
- If you’re using Safari, select Private Browsing.
- Access your Xfinity Rewards page by logging in to your account.
Note: The downside to using an incognito or private window is you’ll need to log in to your Xfinity account every time you want to access your rewards.
#6: Change the DNS Settings on Your Device
Another configuration to look out for when you’re unable to access and redeem your rewards on Xfinity is your device’s DNS settings.
There’s a good chance that you’re using your ISP’s settings, which is fine but not as streamlined as the proven DNS servers.
You want to change the DNS settings on your device and see if this resolves the issue:
- On your computer, go to the Control Panel.
- Select Network and Sharing Center.
- Click on Change Adapter Settings on the left pane.
- Right-click on your active network adapter.
- Select Properties.
- Choose the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) tab.
- Click on the Properties option.
- Clear the check boxes in the automatic option.
- In the Preferred DNS Server, type the ones you want to use.
Here are some of the DNS server options to use:
- Google Public DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
- Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
- OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
- Comodo Secure DNS: 8.26.56.26 and 8.20.247.20
Tip: If you’re on your mobile phone, the quickest way to change DNS servers is to get an app called DNS Changer. It’s available on both iOS and Android.
#7: Disable Your VPN
You could be using a VPN to encrypt your traffic and secure your connection. However, there are instances when it can cause problems when it comes to accessing pages.
It can cause conflicts with Xfinity Rewards, so you want to disable it temporarily.
- Open the VPN app you’re using.
- Check if it’s connected or not.
- If it is, click on the Disconnect button.
- Close your browser to refresh its settings.
- Go to the Xfinity Rewards website.
- Log in to your account and see if you’re able to access it.
Note: It’s important that you turn your VPN back on after checking your rewards.
#8: Reset Network Settings
