Why is My Peacock TV in Spanish?
It’s entirely possible that your Peacock app is not bugged and simply the language has been changed.
In contrast, when the device’s settings are misconfigured, it would appear that your device is stuck in the Spanish language and can’t be changed.
Here are the top reasons why Peacock TV is in Spanish:
- The Peacock language settings are altered.
- The device or browser language is in Spanish.
- Peacock subtitles are changed to Spanish.
- Your device’s IP address is in Spanish (VPN)
- Peacock account settings are set to Spanish.
The above-listed possibilities are only the direct suspects.

How To Fix When Peacock Streaming in Spanish?
Follow the steps in chronological order to be able to also identify the culprit!
1. Switch Peacock TV to English!
The first and most important step is to check whether the language settings of your Peacock app have been altered.
The process of changing the language is the same for the phone app, through the web browser, or Peacock on our TV so here are the universal steps to follow:
Change Peacock Language on TV/Browser/App:
- Open Peacock TV on your browser/TV or phone.
- Start streaming a TV show or any movie.
- Go to Language Settings (Configuración de idioma).
- Or to Audio & Subtitle (Audio y subtítulos).
- Choose the “English (AD)” option.
The Peacock should immediately change all menu settings in English and all TV shows and movies should start using the language as default.
However, keep in mind that some specific contents could be in Spanish only, and you can watch in English only via subtitles.
2. Change the Browser Language
When you’re streaming Peacock from a web browser and the language settings are set to English but all contents are in Spanish, it’s the browser’s fault.
When the language settings of the browser are set to Spanish, the streaming apps such as Peacock will auto-set it as default.
- All browser’s language settings are changed differently!
We strongly recommend testing Peacock by signing in through the Google Chrome browser.
The next step is to ensure that Chrome’s language is not set to Spanish by going into More > Settings > Languages > Preferred Languages > More > Display Chrome in English.
Tip: When you’re ready to switch the language, restart the Google Chrome browser!
3. Switch the Device’s Time Zone
The reason why Peacock appears only in Spanish could be due to the Time Zone of the device you’re using for streaming.
The time zone is also the default language foundation, hence it has to be set to the preferred language for streaming, subtitles, time, date, and more.
Since Peacock TV can be streamed through various devices, here are the respective steps:
Change TimeZone on Smart TV:
- Go to System > Time & Date > Set TimeZone > Tip: select Automatic Time Zone
Change TimeZone on Smartphone:
- Android – Go to the Clock App > More > Settings > Select Time Zone
- iOS – Apple – Go to Settings > General > Time & Date > Set Automatically.
Change TimeZone on Computer
- Windows – Go to Control Panel > Date & Time > Change Time Zone
- MacOS – Go to Apple Menu > System Settings > General > Date & Time
Note: On different brands of smart TVs the menus and settings might be different so consult the user’s manual for exact and specific instructions.
4. Clear Peacock Cache & Cookies
It’s highly likely that Peacock is in Spanish language and can’t be changed because of a corrupted or “locked” cache data or browser cookies.
This is why the best course of action would be to clear that data and start fresh on your streaming device.
Clear Cache on Peacock Phone App:
To clear the cache on Android go to Settings > Apps > Storage and select Clear Cache for the Peacock application.
On iPhones or Apple devices, simply go to Settings and scroll down to select the Peacock application. Then tap on “Offload app” to remove the cached data.
Clear Peacock Cache on Smart TV:
Clearing the cache on different brands of TVs is different but universally go to Settings > Apps or Storage and then select Peacock TV.
Then you should be able to either clear the cache data or uninstall and reinstall the application.
Remove the Online Browser Cookies:
You can remove browser cookies from the Settings > More > Clear Browsing Data and tick the Cookies only.
Again, for different browsers the settings labels and menus are different.
5. Change Subtitles to English!
Typically Peacock appears to be in Spanish when we stumble upon a Spanish dub show, and the settings of our subtitles are also in Spanish.
This way English speakers won’t be able to understand and the only solution is to change the subtitles to a preferred language.
Here’s how to change the subtitles language in Peacock TV:
- Start streaming a TV show or movie on Peacock.
- Click or tap on the Gear Icon to open the settings.
- Then select Subtitles & Audio, from the menu.
- Select “English” or another preferred language.
- The subtitle language changes immediately.
Info: Keep in mind that some subtitle languages might not be available on all TV shows and movies, hence sometimes we can’t change anything.
6. Disable Active VPN Services
Another essential factor is the real-time location of your device or at least how this information is altered and shown to the network.
When your network is altered by an activated VPN, it’s likely that your IP is “masked” as a Spanish address, hence your default languages on all apps including Peacock are changed.
The VPN services could be a browser extension, computer software, or phone app and it’s important to disable them (temporarily).
Later when the Peacock Spanish language issue has been identified we can renew the utilization of VPN services accordingly.
7. Reinstall the Peacock App
If you still don’t know why is Peacock TV in Spanish, then the next step is to perform a clean app installation on the streaming device.
This will remove all application data and provide the user with a fresh start, hence the default language of the platform.
Uninstall Peacock on Smartphone:
- On Android go to Settings then select Apps, tap on Peacock, and select Uninstall.
- On iOS go hold the Peacock TV app icon, then tap on the “–” sign on the corner.
Uninstall Peacock on Smart TV:
On any smart TV, uninstalling is different but universally you should go to Settings > Storage or Apps and then find and select the Peacock TV.
Somewhere in the menus, you should find an option called “Uninstall” or “Remove”.
Tip: If you’re streaming Peacock through a computer browser, test with a different browser!
Is Peacock in Spanish Only?
No, the Peacock is not in Spanish only, but it does contain TV shows and movies that don’t have an English dub.
In such cases, we can use subtitles to understand the content, and we should always be able to enable and disable them.
In addition, we should know that for instance, the World Cup’s commentary and statistics in Peacock were in Spanish with no English support.
This is only one example of the many live streams that will only appear in Spanish, that we can’t change.
Tip: Try streaming different types of media to determine if everything is in Spanish!
