#1: Perform the Basics

Here are some of the steps to work on first:
- Reboot your phone to refresh your system

Note: Don’t let the simplicity of these steps fool you, as they can fix issues of this nature and restore your phone’s ability to call.
#2: Make Sure Your Account Has Enough Balance to Make Calls
If you have an insufficient balance on your account, you won’t be able to make outgoing calls on your LycaMobile phone.
You want to check it and top up your account to continue making calls.
Here’s how to check your LycaMobile account:
- Dial 131# from your phone.
- You will hear how much your balance is.
- Check your balance by texting BAL to 131.
- You will receive a message with your balance.
If you don’t have enough balance, here’s how to top up your account:
- Go to the LycaMobile website.
- Click on the Quick Top up button in the top right.
- Enter your phone number.
- Select the amount you would like to top up.
- Click the Proceed button.
- Enter your payment details.
- Select Top Up.
Note: You’ll be able to pay using your credit card, debit card, or PayPal.
#3: Check your SIM Card Is Inserted Properly
If your SIM card is inserted incorrectly or damaged, your phone won’t be able to read it and connect to the LycaMobile network.
It will be impossible for you to make outbound calls and not receive incoming ones. You want to make sure your SIM is not bent, broken, or dirty.
Here’s how you do it:
- Switch off your phone.
- Remove your SIM from the slot using an eject tool.
- Inspect your SIM and make sure it’s not damaged.
- Wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth.
- Reinsert your SIM into the slot.
- Make sure it fits snugly and securely in the slot.
Tip: If you find out that your SIM is damaged, you’re going to need to replace it with a new one.
#4: Verify You Have Good Network Signal
One cause why you’re unable to make calls with your LycaMobile phone is your signal is weak or unavailable. Check your phone’s signal bars at the top of your screen if you want to see more bars.
To improve your signal, here’s how you do it:
- Find a location in your home with better coverage.
- If you’re outdoors, move to an area with improved coverage.
- Avoid obstructions like walls, buildings, trees, or hills.
- Stay away from interference sources like microwaves or radios.
- Remove any phone cases or covers as they interfere with the signal.
#5: Disable Your Call Forwarding Settings
Call forwarding is a feature that lets you control how incoming and outgoing calls are handled on your phone.
If this is enabled, they can prevent you from making outside calls. You need to disable it if you don’t want them to interfere.
Here’s how to turn it off:
On iPhone:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Tap on the Phone option.
- Select Call Forwarding.
- Toggle the switch to the Off position.
On Android:
- Go to the Phone app on your phone.
- Tap on the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
- Select Settings.

Note: Your phone might require you to enter your phone’s PIN or password to turn this setting off successfully.
#6: Choose a Different Network Mode Like 2G or 3G
There are several network modes to choose from, but if you’re having trouble making outgoing calls, you will need to choose a different one.
Some might work better depending on your phone or location. So, if you’re in an area with poor 4G coverage, switch to 2G or 3G instead.
Here’s how to change the network mode on your phone manually:
On iPhone:
- Go to the Settings app on your phone.
- Tap on the Mobile Data menu.
- Select Mobile Data Options.
- Choose Voice and Data.
- Select 4G, 3G, or 2G.

- Tap on Network and Internet.
- Select Mobile Network.
- Tap on Network Mode.
- Select 4G, 3G, or 2G.
After choosing a network mode, wait for a minute or two for your phone to connect to the correct signal. Make a call and check if it goes through. If it doesn’t, proceed to the next step below.
Tip: Don’t choose the Automatic option until you have resolved the issue.
#7: Select LycaMobile as Your Network Operator on Your Phone

#8: Update Your Phone’s Carrier Settings

To fix this, here’s what you need to do:
On iPhone:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Tap on General.
- Select About.
- Look for the Carrier section.
- If an update is available, it will say Carrier Settings Update Available.

- Select Mobile Network.
- Tap on Network Operators.
- If an update is available, it will say Update Carrier Settings.
- Tap on Update.
Pro Tip: Before you do any of these steps, you want to make sure that your phone is connected to a stable internet connection.
#9: Reset Your Phone’s Network Settings
Your phone’s network settings will say if you can make outgoing calls on your phone or not.
If these are corrupted or misconfigured, you are going to have issues with your connection. You want to reset your phone’s network settings to resolve this. Here’s how:
On iPhone:
- Go to your phone’s Settings.
- Select General.
- Choose the Reset Option.
- Tap on Reset Network Settings.
- Tap on it again to confirm.
On Android:
- Open your phone’s Settings.
- Go to System, then Advanced.
- Select Reset Options.
- Tap Reset WiFi, Mobile, and Bluetooth.
- Choose Reset Settings.
- Tap on it again to confirm.
#10: Turn On VoLTE or WiFi Calling on Your Phone
If you continue to have problems with your LycaMobile and are not able to make outgoing calls, it’s likely a network connectivity issue.
One way to bypass this would be to use VoLTE or WiFi calling features on your phone. Here’s how to turn these on:
On iPhone:
- Open your phone’s Settings.
- Go to Mobile Data.
- Select Mobile Data Options.
- Toggle the LTE or Voice and Data switch On.
- To enable WiFi calling, go to Phone.
- Select WiFi Calling.
- Toggle the switch On.
On Android:
- Go to your phone’s Settings.
- Select Network and Internet.
- Go to Mobile Network.
- Tap Advanced.
- Toggle Enhanced 4G LTE Mode or VoLTE Calls.
- To enable WiFi Calling, toggle the switch to On opposite WiFi Calling.
This way, you’re going to bypass your mobile network altogether and should be able to make calls as long as you have internet.
