LycaMobile Network Not Working – 8 Easy Steps to Fix
There are several solutions to fix your LycaMobile network problem. We’ve tested them and found them to be effective in most cases.
#1: Remove and Reinsert Your SIM Card
Removing and reinserting your SIM card helps refresh the connection between your SIM and your phone. It also lets you eliminate any dirt affecting your SIM card performance.
Here’s how to remove and reinsert your SIM card properly:
- Switch off your phone and take out the battery (if applicable).
- Locate the SIM card slot and gently push the SIM card out.
- Check the SIM card for any signs of physical damage or dirt.
- If damaged, replace your SIM card with a new one.
- Clean with a soft cloth if necessary and reinsert it into the slot.
- Put the battery back in and turn on your phone.
- Wait for a few seconds and see if the issue is fixed.
Note: If you encounter any resistance when removing your SIM card, don’t force it. Instead, consult your phone’s user manual or contact customer support for guidance.
#2: Make Sure You Have Enough Balance on Your Account
If you run out of credit or data, you won’t be able to use your LycaMobile network services.
Check your balance by dialling *131# from your LycaMobile phone or logging into your online account.
To check your balance, follow these steps:
- Visit the LycaMobile website and sign in to your account.
- Click on the My Account tab.
- Go to the Account Summary section.
- You will see your current balance there.
If you don’t have enough balance on your account, top it up by doing one of the following:
Using a top-up voucher
- Scratch off the scratch panel to reveal the PIN code.
- Dial 131PIN#.
- Press the Call button.
- You will hear a voice confirmation that your account has been topped up.
Online
- Go to LycaMobile’s website.
- Sign in to your account.
- Click on the Top Up tab.
- Select the amount you want to top up.
- Choose your payment method.
- Click on the Top Up button.
- You will receive a confirmation that your account has been topped up.
After topping up your balance, wait a few minutes and see if your network problem is solved.
Note: The minimum top-up amount is £5, while the maximum varies on your county or region.
#3: Update Your Phone’s Carrier Settings
Your phone’s carrier settings allow it to connect to the LycaMobile network and use its features.
Sometimes, these settings become outdated and corrupted, causing network problems. To update your phone’s carrier settings, follow these steps:
iPhone
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on System.
- Tap Advanced.
- Select System Update.
- Look for Carrier Settings.
- You will see “Carrier Settings Update Available” if an update is available.
- Tap on Download and Install.
Pro Tip: The update will take a few minutes to download and install. Restart your phone after updating the carrier settings.
#4: Manually Connect to the Network Using LycaMobile SIM Toolkit
Sometimes, your phone will not automatically connect to the LycaMobile network or will link to a wrong or weak network. In this case, you must do it manually using the LycaMobile SIM Toolkit.
Here’s how to do this:
- Go to your phone’s Settings.
- Go to Tools, SIM, or Apps.
- Find an option labelled LycaMobile or Lyca Service and tap on it.
- Select a Mode.
- Tap on Manual.
- Tap National.
- Wait for your phone to search for available networks.
- Select LycaMobile from the list.
- Wait for a few seconds and see if the problem is fixed.
Once you have manually connected, restart your phone.
#5: Select LycaMobile as Your Operator on Your Phone’s Settings
Sometimes, your phone will switch to a different operator or roam on another network. Luckily, there’s another way to connect to the LycaMobile network manually.
It is by selecting LycaMobile as your operator on your phone’s settings.
Here’s how to do this:
iPhone
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Mobile Data.
- Tap Network Selection.
- Turn off Automatic and wait for the list of networks to appear.
- Select LycaMobile from the list.
- Wait for the confirmation message.
- See if the network problem is fixed.
Android
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Network & Internet.
- Select Mobile Network.
- Tap Network Operators.
- Tap on Search Networks and wait for the list of available networks to appear.
- Select LycaMobile from the list.
- Wait for the confirmation message.
- See if the network problem is fixed.
Note: This is especially helpful if you live in an area with multiple available networks or are experiencing network connectivity issues.
Tip: Restart your phone after making this selection for it to take effect.
#6: Change Your Phone’s Network Type
Your phone’s network type determines the kind of signal your phone uses to connect to the LycaMobile network.
It causes network problems when your phone uses an incompatible or suboptimal network type for your location or device. Here’s how to change your device’s network type:
iPhone
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Mobile Data.
- Tap Mobile Data Options.
- Select Voice & Data.
- Choose a different option from the list: 4G, 3G, or 2G.
- See if the network problem is fixed.
Android
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Network & Internet.
- Select Mobile Network.
- Tap Advanced.
- Tap on Preferred Network Type.
- Choose a different option from the list: 4G, 3G, or 2G.
- See if the network problem is fixed.
Experiment with different options to find the best one for your situation. The network type you choose will affect the speed and quality of your data connection.
Note: If you are not sure which type of network to choose, use the automatic network selection option.
#7: Reset Your Phone’s Network Settings
Resetting your phone’s network settings is another way to fix your LycaMobile no network problem.
It restores your phone’s default settings but deletes WiFi passwords, Bluetooth connections, and VPN settings. Here’s how to do this:
iPhone
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on General.
- Select Reset.
- Tap Reset Network Settings.
- Enter your passcode if prompted and confirm the reset.
- Wait for your phone to restart.
- See if the network problem is fixed.
Android
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on System.
- Tap Advanced.

#8: Change Your Phone’s APN Settings
The final solution is changing your phone’s APN settings. Sometimes, your phone’s APN settings are incorrect or outdated, causing network problems.
To change it, follow these steps:
iPhone
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Cellular or Mobile Data.
- Select Cellular Data Network or Mobile Data Network.
- Enter the following information in the fields:
- APN: data.lycamobile.co.uk
- Username: lmuk
- Password: plus
- Leave the other areas blank.
- Tap on the back arrow to save the changes.
- See if your network problem is fixed.
Android
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Network & Internet.
- Select Mobile Data Network.
- Tap Advanced.
- Choose Access Point Names.
- Tap on the plus sign (+) to add a new APN.
- Enter the following information in the fields:
- Name: LycaMobile
- APN: data.lycamobile.co.uk
- Username: lmuk
- Password: plus
- MMSC: 1
- MMS Proxy: 82.132.254.1
- MMS Port: 8080
- MCC: 234
- MNC: 26
- APN Type: default,supl,mms
- APN Protocol: IPv4
- APN roaming protocol: IPv4
- Leave the other fields blank.
- Tap on the three dots to save the changes.
- Select LycaMobile as your active APN.
- See if the network problem is fixed.
Tip: Double-check your APN settings and save them accurately.
