Anything below 2 bars is considered bad cellular connectivity and might restrict most of your mobile services, such as cellular calling and mobile data usage.
Note: Before attempting any of the solutions, verify that the cellular indicator of your device has at least 2 bars.
1. Restart the Mobile Data Feature
The first method for resolving the mobile data connectivity failure is to reactivate the Mobile Data feature on your device.
All mobile OS has a mobile data feature that toggles the carrier’s internet, so resetting it is the first and easiest step.
How to Restart the Mobile Data On Android?
- First, open the “Settings” app on the Android device.
- Select “Mobile Data” or “Cellular” on the homepage.
- Next, locate the feature’s activation slider at the top.
- Tap the activation slider to turn off the data feature.
- Wait for 30 seconds and tap the activation slider again.
How to Restart the Mobile Data On iOS?
- Open the “Settings” app on your iOS device.
- Tap on “Mobile Service” in the front section.
- Next, tap the “Mobile Data” slider at the top.
- Wait for ~45 seconds after the deactivation.
- Tap on the slider to turn on iOS’s mobile data.
Note: You cannot use the amaysim data while the setting is off.
2. Embed the amaysim SIM Card
A fault in the connection between the amaysim SIM card and the mobile device will result in the carrier losing all cellular features.
So, the next step is to reinsert the SIM card from the device’s cardholder tray, clean the slot and re-embed the SIM chip to renew the cellular connectivity.
Follow these steps to reinsert the amaysim SIM card:
- Locate the SIM compartment on the side of the device.
- Insert a SIM tool to pop-open the SIM tray compartment.
- Next, remove the amaysim from the tray of your device.
- Clean the SIM tray and place the SIM card onto the slot.
- Finally, gently place the tray back into the mobile device’s slot.
Note: Contact amaysim if the SIM does not fit the tray or the chip seems defective!
3. Adjust the Device’s Carrier Settings
When connecting to a new carrier, specify the carrier’s network in your device’s settings.
Not setting a preferred cellular network will prevent the amaysim mobile from performing cellular calls, sending SMS/MMS and using the mobile data.
How to Specify Preferred Carrier On Android?
- Start by launching the “Settings” app on your Android.
- Go to “More Networks” or “More Settings” (old models).
- Tap “Network Operators” and wait until all are displayed.
- Choose “amaysim” from the available network options.
- Confirm the carrier and exit the device’s network settings.
How to Specify Preferred Carrier On Apple’s iOS?
- Launch the “Settings” app on your Apple iOS device.
- Tap on “Cellular” and navigate to “Cellular Network.”
- Choose “Network Selection” from the options below.
- Turn off the “Automatic” feature and wait for results.
- Locate the amaysim carrier and lock in the selection.
How to Check if My Device is Locked?
If you’re not using an amaysim-powered device, your mobile might be locked to the previous carrier you purchased it with.
So, here’s how to identify if your device’s cellular is restricted:
- To check on Android, go to “Settings” → “Connections” → “Mobile Network” → “Automatically Select Network.”
If there is a carrier, the device is unlocked.
- To check on iOS, go to “Settings” → “General” → “About” → “Carrier Lock.”
If the panel says “No SIM restrictions,” the iPhone or iPad is unlocked to new carriers.
Note: Contact your previous provider to discuss the unlocking of your mobile!
4. Correct the amaysim APN Settings
All mobile devices have APN settings that allow connecting with a third-party provider and optimising cellular usage.
If your mobile’s APN is not set towards amaysim’s preferences, you may lose access to many cellular features, including amaysim’s mobile data and allowance.
How to Access amaysim APN iPhone Settings?
