Self-Installation. If you are confident that you can do the installation, you should go for this as this is the cheapest possible route to get a Sky mini box.
If you know how to set up, you can save some buck by ordering the ‘self-installation” box.
However, if you have purchased one but don’t know the installation instructions, do not worry. Read the installation steps and you can easily set up your additional box.
Required Cables & Accessories
Sky Q Installation Cables and Accessories are provided in the package that you will receive from Sky. In case you have not received it, you should contact Sky support staff immediately. The following accessories are compulsory for proper setup of the Skybox:
Press the “Reset” button present on the back of the box.
Wait for few minutes till it resets.
Unplug the box from mains and wait 5 minutes.
Connect again and start Step 1-3 again.
Error Messages During Installation
If you follow the steps mentioned above, you can easily set up the mini box without any problems. However, many users report “error messages” while setting up the box.
Let us learn the “error messages” that users report while installing and how to fix them easily.
Connecting Screen. Sometimes you may hear only the audio while the screen is not showing. Instead, you will see “connecting Screen” message. To fix this “dismiss” the message with remote and check if it resolves the problem.
Unsuccessful Connection. Many times, the “unsuccessful connection” message pop-ups. If this happens do not worry. Wait for at least 1 minute and the box should fix the problem itself.
Joining Network. Sometimes you will see “Joining Network” message on your TV screen. And after some time it will show that “there is a problem joining the network”. In this case, you need to “reset” the Sky Mini box if it is taking the unlimited time.
Quick Fact.If you still see the error messages again and again, even after the “reset” of the mini box, you should contact the support staff.
